Zhangjiajie Train Schedule

At present, two railway stations are used for passenger transport in the city. Zhangjiajie Railway Station is mainly for normal speed trains and West Railway Station for both high speed and normal speed trains.

Zhangjiajie Railway Station

Located on Dayong Road in Yongding District, Zhangjiajie Railway Station is about 73 kilometers (45 miles) from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The station mainly operates normal trains to domestic cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Jishou, Hangzhou, Changsha, Kunming and Nanning.

Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

West Railway Station in Yongding District is about 8.5 kilometers (5 miles) to downtown area. It mainly serves Qianjing – Zhangjiajie – Changde and Zhangjiajie – Huaihua High Speed Railways. High speed trains to Changsha has been opened. And normal speed trains to major domestic cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen are also running.

How to get to Mt. Tianzishan scenic spot from Zhangjiajie train station?

We will arrive in the early morning and we’d like to visit the site after arrival.

The direct bus is available. After exiting from the railway station, turn left and arrive at the central bus station. The direct buses are available at the left side and it takes 90 minutes at the cost of CNY15 per person, it will take you to the ticket center directly. Anything like CNY12 per person doesn’t arrive at the ticket center.

Zhangjiajie to Changsha

How about a 5 hours trip by hard seat? If it necessary to book a hard sleeper ticket?

For me, it is still acceptable. Indeed there could be some people standing instead the carriage but usually not very crowded. If you will travel at a peak season, this may not a good idea. For sleeper beds, you hardly use them during a day trip unless you got lower bunk.

When will high speed trains added for Zhangjiajie?

Will there be direct high speed train from Xi'an？

It should be around the year 2020, no news about more details. Since there should be high speed rides from Chongqing, direct rides should be able to be extend from Xi'an too. Well, this is only my idea but confirmed idea of Railway Company.
