Beijing - Xi'an High Speed Train

High speed trains are among the best choices to travel between Beijing and Xi'an. About 22 pairs of high speed G trains operate on a daily basis. Running at the top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), the 1,216 km (756 mi) distance takes only 4 - 6 hours. A second class seat tickets costs CNY 481.5 (USD 68). 

In addition, 2 pairs of overnight D trains run between Beijing and Xi'an, taking nearly 12 - 12.5 hours. The ticket fare for a second class sleeper is CNY 300 - 303 (USD 43).

A Second Class Cabin

Passengers can get there by subway line 7 or line 9. In addition, buses 3, 9, 21, 40, 50, 53, 62, 65, 67, 89, 96, 109, 122, 129, 142, 320, 339, 374, 387, 394,  414, 616,  663, 694, 917, 982,  night 5, 8, 14, 15, 22, 23, and 36 shuttle between the station and other areas in the city.
 Metro line 2, line 4 and line 14 can conveniently serve passengers to or leave the station. Or one can take buses 149, 182, 200, 263, 264, 281, 329, 523, 530, 727, 840, 841, 866, 882, 884 to reach or leave the station. 
 In addition, there are about 7 pairs of ordinary overnight trains running between Beijing West Railway Station/Beijing Fengtai Railway Station and Xi'an Railway Station. Those from Beijing are available from 12:50 to 18:46; while those departures from Xi'an operate from 17:28 to 02:00+1. The whole journey takes about 12 - 17.5 hours. The ticket price for a soft sleeper ranges from CNY 398.5 -  422.5 (USD 57 - 60); for a hard sleeper CNY 254.5 - 268.5 (USD 36 - 38); and for a hard seat CNY 148.5 - 156.5 (USD 21 - 22).
