Shanghai - Zhangjiajie Train
Currently, there are 3 pairs of trains running between Shanghai and Zhangjiajie, including one pair of high speed trains and 2 pairs of normal ones. It takes around 9 hours and 18.5 – 21.5 hours respectively for this popular tourist route. A second class seat costs CNY 758 - 780 while a hard sleeper costs CNY 331.5 - 343.5 per person.
Passengers can also make a transfer in Changsha for more high speed trains. In this case, duration will be 6.5 – 9 hours.

Traveling in this way, passengers need to transfer between Changsha South Railway Station and Changsha Railway Station by taking bus no. 135, 148, or by subway line 2. A taxi ride takes about 25 minutes and costs CNY 30.
Aside from a rail ride, passengers can also travel by flights. A flight trip between the two cities takes 2.5 hours or so. Full price for an economy class seat is about CNY 1,400, but discounts may be offered in low seasons when an economy class seat may just cost about CNY 500. However, weather change may easily lead to flight delays or cancellation. Passengers had better check the weather forecast before making a flight trip.
Traveling by normal speed trains will be a preferable choice for budget travelers because it costs less, but the long-distance journey may make tourists feel bored and dog-tired. If they have to travel in this way, a soft or hard sleeper is highly recommended.
High speed trains are welcomed by most travelers. They will save a lot of time compared with normal train trip and are also more punctual compared with flights.

00ReplyI think you can walk to Disney metro station to board Line 11 to Xujiahui and then change to line 1 within the metro station. By Line 1, you can reach South Railway Station. It is necessary to prepare 1 hour on the way.

00ReplyYou can walk to Songhonglu station to take metro line 2 to Zhongshan Park and then from there to South Station by line 3. It should take around 30 to 40min.

ReplyWe are a family traveling with kids. How can I make sure we will stay together?
I see that there are 7 soft sleeper beds left and we need 4 beds. We cannot leave the kids along in other room. How do I know if these beds are together or not? Thank you for your answer?
