Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

Zhangjiajie West Railway Station is one of the only 2 railway stations in Zhangjiajie. All the high speed trains in Zhangjiajie are operated here. In addition, a part of normal speed trains also stop here. It is about 8.5 kilometers (5 miles) to the city center, 21 kilometers (13 miles) to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, 11 kilometers (7 miles) to Zhangjiajie Railway Station and about 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) to Hehua International Airport. It is convenient to travel from the Station to major attractions by city bus. From the adjacent Zhangjiajie High Speed Bus Station, one can take a long-distance bus to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park directly.

Now, Zhangjiajie West Railway Station serves mainly high speed trains. The Station connects Zhangjiajie with many cities in China, including Changsha, Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. Also, it operates normal speed trains from/ to Chongqing and Wuhan.

The Station is composed of 3 floors: an underground floor and 2 floors on the ground.

Ticket Office/ Entrance/ Exit: Floor 1

Customer Service and Facilities: Floor 2

Waiting Areas and Boarding Gates: Floor 1 and Floor 2, with waiting room on Floor 1 mainly for business class ticket holders, disabled passengers, those traveling with kids and more, while the Floor 2 for most passengers.

Transfer Passage: near the exit

Hailing Taxi/ Left Luggage Office: Traveler Service Center on the underground floor

How to Travel from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

→exit the West Railway Station, walk for 1 minute to the Zhangjiajie High Speed Bus Station, which is to the southeast of the Railway Station’s exit
→take a direct bus to Wulingyuan Bus Station, costing CNY13 and taking about 1 hour;
→walk for 15 minutes to arrive at the east gate of the Forest Park

From the bus station, there are also buses leaving for Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Seven Star Mountain.

How to Travel from Zhangjiajie West Train Station to Tianmen Mountain (Heaven's Gate)

→Take city bus line 4, 6, or 17 at the High Speed Bus Stop near the Railway Station, costing CNY2
→Get off at Wuling Shanzhenguan Bus Stop if taking bus Line 4 and 17; or at Guanyin Bridge Bus Stop if taking bus Line 6;
→Walk for 1 – 2 minutes to the lower station of Tianmen Mountain Cable Car;
→Take a cable car to the summit of the mountain or take the free shuttle bus to the entrance of the mountain.

1. City Bus

Buses No. 4, 6, 7, 16, 17 would take you to the West Railway Station from Zhangjiajie downtown, some of which also stop by Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport and Zhangjiajie Railway Station.

From the major scenic spots in Zhangjiajie like National Forest Park and Grand Canyon, buses would run to Zhangjiajie High Speed Bus Station. From the Bus Station, walk for 1 minute to reach the West Railway Station.
