Zhangjiajie West Railway Station

Zhangjiajie West Railway Station is a large railway station in the railways of Qianjiang – Zhangjiajie – Changde and Zhangjiajie – Jishou – Huaihua, operating both high speed and normal speed trains. It is about 8.5 kilometers (5 miles) to the city center, 21 kilometers (13 miles) to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, 11 kilometers (7 miles) to Zhangjiajie Railway Station and about 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) to Hehua International Airport.

 Now, Zhangjiajie West Railway Station has opened 22 high speed trains to/from Changsha in a daily basis. The trains run from 07:40 to 18:08 with a duration of 3 – 3.5 hours. The railway stations along the way are Yiyang, Changde, Taoyuan, etc. Also, the high speed trains between Changsha and Xianfeng also stop at this station. Besides, it also operate normal speed trains to/from Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Hangzhou.

 The main station building and its canopies of Zhangjiajie West Train Station all boast mansard roofs which look like rolling mountains. The pedestrian bridge is designed after the One-Hundred-Li Gallery and the waiting hall is like a stilted building in local Tujia ethnic characteristics.

It is composed of 3 floors. The only underground floor sets arrivals hall and transit hall. Besides, there is customer service center and luggage lockers. The ground floor is mainly for ticket office and waiting hall. And business waiting room, area for children’s recreation, and key passengers waiting room are all in the first floor. Second floor is the waiting lounge with some customer service facilities. 
 1. City Bus: Two bus lines, line 16 &17, have been opened to connect Zhangjiajie West Train Station with East Coach Station and Zhangjiajie Railway Station separately. Also, three bus lines have been extended to West Railway Station, including Bus line 4 from Hehua International Airport, line 6 from Zhangjiajie Railway Station and line 7 from People’s Hospital.
2. Taking a taxi from downtown area to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station takes about CNY 15 – 20 and less than 20 minutes.

 First, take city bus line 4 or 17 to Zhangjiajie Railway Station, then walk west for 200 meters (220 yards) to Central Coach Station. The bus takes about 50 minutes and CNY 2/person. Take tourist bus from coach station to National Forest Park directly. The ticket fare is CNY 20/person and the travel time is about 1 hour.
 Travel from the railway station to Tianmen Mounain Cableway Station by city bus line 4/6/17, then take a cable car to the summit of the mountain or take the free shuttle bus to the entrance of the mountain.
 Go to Central Coach Station by city bus line 4 or 17 at first, then take a coach to Jiangya Hot Spring and get off at the Grand Canyon in midway. Finally, take the tourists bus to the entrance of the scenic area.
