Liuzhou - Zhangjiajie Train

Two pairs of normal trains are operated daily to serve passengers travelling from Liuzhou to Zhangjiajie or from Zhangjiajie to Liuzhou. Sometimes, the temporary trains T282 /T281 are also available for passengers. All the normal speed trains between Liuzhou and Zhangjiajie are overnight sleeper trains and the duration on the trains is around 10.5 - 12 hours. The minimal cost for a hard sleeper is CNY 169. High speed trains are not available at present.

Other Transportation Means between Liuzhou and Zhangjiajie

Although high speed trains are not available between Zhangjiajie and Liuzhou up to now, a transfer in Changsha can bring more alternatives for passengers. Over 10 pairs of bullet trains are operated for passengers travelling between Liuzhou and Changsha with the duration of 4.5 - 5 hours. After arriving at Changsha, long-distance buses, normal trains, and flights are available for passengers having a travel from Changsha to Zhangjiajie or vice versa.

Passengers can take long-distance buses from Changsha Long-Distance Bus Station to Zhangjiajie Long-distance Bus Station. The duration on the bus may take about 4 hours and the ticket fare is CNY 119 -135 per person.

Besides, there are 8 pairs of normal trains available for passengers travelling between Changsha and Zhangjiajie. It takes about 4.5 - 6 hours with a distance of 396 kilometers (246 miles) and the ticket fare for booking a hard seat is CNY 54.5/ 83.5.

In addition, passengers can take almost 1 hour to have a travel from Changsha to Zhangjiajie or from Zhangjiajie to Changsha by plane. A single trip on an economy class seat of Changsha - Zhangjiajie flight costs about CNY 330.

Travel Tips of Zhangjiajie

As a charming tourist city, Zhangjiajie features a lot of attractions. Wulingyuan Scenic and Historical Interest Area is one of the most well-known attractions in Zhangjiajie. It includes Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, and Yangjiajie Scenic Area. Passengers can take regular tourist buses which depart around every 10 minutes to Wulingyuan from Zhangjiajjie Central Bus Station next to Zhangjiajie Railway Station. The overall duration on the bus is around 50 minutes and the fee is about CNY 12.

It is safe for solo female traveler to use overnight train?

I am considering K1474 from Liuzhou to Zhangjiajie. Or maybe it is better to take flight instead?

Personally speaking, I think it is safe to travel in China. Taking an overnight train is not a problem if you do not mind sharing the space with other strangers and the possibility of finding only squat toilet. While, for safety, I do not mean for sure for luggage. It is safer to keep your luggage within your eyesight

I'm going to take an overnight train from Zhangjiajie to Liuzhou and from Liuzhou to Guilin.

My question is; do the highspeed trains from liuzhou to Guilin depart from a different trainstation then where the trains from Zhangjiajie arrive. And if so, how much time do I need between my arrival at Liuzhou and my departure from Liuzhou to Guilin?

currently, they use the station station, Liuzhou Railway Station. You do not need to change station. But it is still better to prepare around 1 hour between as you will arrival Liuzhou by an overnight trip.

Is there a transfer corridor in Liuzhou?

Or do I need to exit the station and pass again via security?
I only have 30 minutes for a connecting train.

Yes, I read that there is transfer passenger waiting area offered (for trains within 1 hours or more than 1 hour). You can show your paper ticket to the staff and ask them to help you with the transfer. 30min should be OK.

If I will change the train at same station, how long would it take?

I will come from Guilin and plan to take K1474 from Liuzhou to Zhangjiajie. In this way, I do not need to change between stations right?

Yes, you will reach and depart from the same station, no need to transfer between different stations. If you will take the high speed rides from Guilin to Liuzhou, around 30min between the two rides should be fine as high speed rides hardly delay.

Any public transportation from Liuzhou Railway Station to Liujiang Railway Station?
If yes, please share the details on how to take the transport and how long does it take?
if not, is taxis available, how much do they charge?

You can take bus No. 99 to Liujiang Station, the bus need at least 1 hour. If you take the taxi, maybe around 30 to 40min. The taxi fare would be around CNY40.
