Shenzhen - Zhangjiajie Train
At present, there are 4 pairs of high speed trains running between Shenzhen East Railway Station / Shenzhen West Railway Station and Zhangjiajie Railway Station/Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, whose distance between is about 1,500 km (930 mi). For a one-way ride, they need around 6.5-7 hours. Ticket fare for a second class seat costs around CNY 580.5 - 678.
If you want to save time, a transfer in Changsha is recommended because both the sections of Shenzhen - Changsha and Changsha - Zhangjiajie can be finished by high speed train now.

If the current schedule does not meet your travel plan, or the tickets have been sold out, or you want to travel in a more time-saving way, a transfer in Changsha is a good choice.

Fortunately, the two have been connected by metro line 2 and a metro ride can finish the distance between in about 35 minutes. If by taxi, it takes about 25 minutes and CNY 30-35. Passengers are advised to leave at least 1.5 hours for a transfer between the two railway stations.
The flight is an even more time-saving way. However, there is only one pairs of direct flights. From Shenzhen to Zhangjiajie, it takes off at 22:15 and arrives at 23:55; from Zhangjiajie to Shenzhen, it departures at 07:05 and lands at 08:45. The flight ticket fare varies from CNY 800 to CNY 1,000 on usual days.
If you want to save time, a transfer in Changsha is recommended because both the sections of Shenzhen - Changsha and Changsha - Zhangjiajie can be finished by high speed train now.

I heard there is one bus from Longhua Long Distance bus station and Longgang Distance bus station to Zhangjiajie, but not sure about the bus time. See from the map, it should take 16 to 18 hours on the way.

The high speed rail is scheduled to serve at the end of year 2019, however, there is no detailed information about operation date yet. Tickets will open for sale at same time of operation. If there is any news about it, we will updated the information on our website as soon as possible.

The location is No. 94 Jihua Road, Longgang District. There is a metro station called Buji nearby which is on line 3 and line 5. You can use metro service directly.

I want to view the scenery along the way, so K9006 should be better?
Is it good for 2 passengers to use hard sleeper beds?

Yes, I agree! K9006 should be better, and the arrival time is better. K9064 land at 4am, it is too early for bus service to the town or the Park. For the sleeper bed, it depends. Personally speaking, hard sleeper bed is OK for me. It is better to get a lower bed, but sometimes hard to do.
