How to Get to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

To get to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, it is advised to arrive in Zhangjiajie City first. Tourists can get to Zhangjiajie by train or by air or take a coach from nearby cities. In Zhangjiajie, direct buses and taxis are convenient ways to the national park.

Three recommended ways to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Flight + Bus: Take a flight to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, then take city bus no. 4 or taxi to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, then take a bus to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

Train + Bus: Take a train to Zhangjiajie Railway Station or West Railway Station; after, take a direct bus or taxi to the destination.

Coach + Bus: Take a long-distance coach to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, then change to a local direct bus to the scenic spot.

The transport methods for Zhangjaijie – Zhangjiajie National Forest Park depend on how you arrive in Zhangjiajie. The following are recommended transport plans for you classified by the way you travel to Zhangjiajie City.

Arrive in Zhangjiajie By Train

Two railway stations operate in Zhangjiajie, Zhangjiajie Railway Station and Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, about 21 km (13 mi) to National Forest Park, is the nearest railway station to the scenic spot. Zhangjiajie Railway Station is 40 km (25 mi) from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Whichever you arrive at, there are direct buses sending you to the national park.

By Bus

From Zhangjiaijie Railway Station: 1h; CNY 13
Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, on the northwest of Zhangjiajie Railway Station, operates frequent direct buses to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park from 07:00 - 17:00 and the bus journey takes about 60 minutes and CNY 13.

The bus station also operates direct buses to the ticket office of Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, taking CNY 11 and 70 minutes. There tourists can also buy the ticket package for Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

From Zhangjiajie West Railway Station: 40min; CNY 13
Zhangjiajie High Speed Rail Bus Station beside the railway station offers direct bus service to Wulingyuan (also Zhangjiajie National Forest Park). The buses run from 07:45 - 16:10 and take 40 minutes.

By Taxi

From Zhangjiajie Railway Station: 40-50min; CNY 120-150

From Zhangjiajie West Railway Station: 35-40min; CNY 75-90

Arrive in Zhangjiajie By Air

City Bus + Direct Bus: 1.5h; CNY 15

At the airport, take the bus no. 4 to Wuling Natural Specialties Tourism Shopping Mall, taking CNY 2 and 45 minutes. Then walk to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station to take a direct bus to Wulingyuan.

Taxi + Direct Bus: 1h; CNY 33

Take a taxi from the airport to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, taking CNY 20 and 15-20 minutes. Then get on the direct bus to Wulingyuan at the bus station.

Arrive in Zhangjiajie By Coach

If you travel to Zhangjiajie by coach, then you will arrive in Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station which will offer you a seamless journey to Wulingyuan by taking a direct bus to Wulingyuan.

How to get to Zhangjiajie from Guangzhou? April 28th 2025.

I will be in Guangzhou for the Canton fair in April. Which is the best way to get to Zhangjiajie from Guangzhou? Then from Zhangjiajie, I want to go to Shanghai on May 2nd.

From Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie, I think the direct bullet train is fast and cheap, taking about 6 hours and no more than CNY600.

From Zhangjiajie to Shanghai, only one direct bullet train is in service with a duration of about 9 hours. Or you may fly for this route.

Whats the best way or what are the ways i can travel to get to Zhangjjiajie from Taizhou

One direct flight from Hangzhou to Zhangjiajie on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. So you can take a bullet train from Taizhou to Hangzhou taking only 1.5-2h, then fly to Zhangjiajie and the flight duration is 2.5h.
Bullet trains with a transfer in Changsha are also OK which may take you CNY10 hours in total.

Zhangjiajie from shanghai

What's the best way to go to zhangjiajie from shanghai (with 6 people)? And from fenghuang to guangzhou?

There are direct flights from Shanghai to Zhangjiajie and one direct train G1369 taking 9 hours.

And 8 direct trains run from Fenghuang Ancient Town to Guangzhou, taking 5 hours and CNY388 - 504.

You can take a bus to Changde, then take a bullet train at Changde Railway Station to Zhangjiajie.

Do you know if there's a bus going from Chongqing to Zhangjiajie and if yes, the schedule and price?

No bus from Chongqing to Zhangjiajie due to the long distance. You need to take a train. There are three direct normal trains and no direct high speed trains. If you prefer high speed trains, you have to transfer at Huaihua.
