How to Travel between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang

There are approximately 210 kilometers (130 miles) between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang. The best and only direct public transport to travel between is to take the bullet train, taking about one hour and CNY 75 - 93 if you leave from or arrive in downtown Zhangjiajie. Every day, there are nearly 20 pairs of bullet trains running back and forth between. Chartering a car is also available but not recommended for the long time needed and much higher cost.

How to Travel from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to Fenghuang Ancient Town

The distance between Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Wulingyuan) and Fenghuang Ancient Town is about 250 kilometers (155 miles). No direct bus runs between the two spots, passengers need to take buses and trains to finish the journey.

Step 1: Get to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station first
Take a bus from Wulingyuan Bus Station to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. The bus departs from 6:30 to 17:55 every day as long as the bus is full. It takes CNY 13 and 1 hour.

Step 2: Take a High Speed Train to Fenghuang as mentioned above

How to Travel from Tianmen Mountain to Fenghuang Ancient Town

Tianmen Mountain is about 200 km (124 mi) far from Fenghuang. Still, taking bullet train from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station is the best way, but first go to the Railway Station by below ways:

Bus: Take Bus No. 4/6/17 and get off at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. It takes you CNY 2 and about 1 hour.

Taxi: CNY 20 – 30; about 20 minutes
 

How to Travel from Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon to Fenghuang Ancient Town

There is about 250 km (155 mil) between Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Fenghuang Ancient Town. To get to the town from there, go to Zhangjiejie West Railway Station first in below ways and then take the direct bullet train.

Coach: There are coaches running from the Grand Canyon to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. For the departure time, please consult the staff of the Grand Canyon Scenic Area. Here is the operation hours of the reverse route for reference: 8:30 – 16:50. It departs as long as the coach is full. The ticket is CNY 22 and time needed is about 2 hours.
