Beijing - Chongqing Train

Currently, there are 8 pairs of trains available between capital Beijing and Chongqing. Among them, 6 pairs are high speed trains and they usually need about 7 - 11.5 hours on the way. The rest 2 pairs are normal overnight types; they take much longer time for the trip, around 24.5 hours to 26 hours.
 
For this trip, the ride run on Beijing-Guangzhou High Speed Rail Line first and then turn to Wuhan-Chongqing High Speed Rail Line in Wuhan city. Therefore, travelers who find this ride cannot fit their schedule may make a transfer in Wuhan. There are around 50 pairs of rides everyday on operation between Beijing-Wuhan and Wuhan-Chongqing which cover almost every hour during day time. For such a transfer, it is advisable to spare around 1 hour between the two trips even the rides arrive at and depart from the same station.
  Since the rail trip takes a comparatively long time, flight can be an alternative for this trip. The flights usually need about 3 hours only but the ticket price is usually higher. However, when a good discount is offered, the flight ticket can be more competitive. Travelers can make decision based on their schedule and ticket price.
