Passengers are advised to take those overnight sleeper trains which will save the day time and hotel expenditures, but you should buy a soft or hard sleeper because the hard seats are not comfortable and the carriages for hard seat are crowded, especially during holidays. If you have a sleeper, you can have a good rest during the night and then you will be energetic to start your travel next day. The sleepers are in a great demand all the time, so you should buy the tickets ahead of your journey.

Flights
If you are pressed for time, you can travel by flight which takes 1.5 hours or so for the whole journey. However, the airports are a little far from the downtown area in these two cities. 00ReplyWhich train station? If you mean Wuhan Station, you can take metro line 4 to Fuxinglu and then change to bus 717 to get to Jiefanglu (Houchangjie). Then you can walk to the hotel. If you refer to Wuchang Station, it is closer in distance. You can take bus 402, 10 or 61. You can take taxi which should around CNY15.

00ReplyAs I know, there is no non-stop train for this trip. If you plan to take a high speed ride, you may consider G98 at 9:57am. It is the fastest one and only stop at Zhengzhou for 3min before it reached Wuhan.

I am a little worried about the shared space. If I will take K318 at 19:07, at what time should I reach the station? Your kind advice will be great!

00ReplyIt is safe to travel overnight, but if you are very sensitivity about personal space, it is indeed a little challenged. The hard sleeper beds are open type without cabin door, but still safe. If you have the paper ticket already, you can reach the station about 40min in advance. The checkin will start around 30min in advance. Without paper ticket, maybe 1 to 1.5 hours would be better.
