Xi'an and Kunming are also linked by about 13 pairs of flights and the number maybe increase in peak season. Compared with trains, the flights enjoy a strong advantage in journey time. They are good choices for those with limited travel time. The ticket price also looks very attractive when there is a discount.

However, both Kunming and Xi'an are very popular tourist cities, so the air ticket may not have any discount during peak seasons like July and August, when high speed trains are better choices. Normal speed trains with long travel time but cheap ticket fare are more recommended to budget travelers.
