Beijing - Badaling High Speed Train

Now, there are about 15 high speed trains travelling from Beijing to Badaling and 16 from Badaling to Beijing. Most trains are running from Qinghe Railway Station, and the rest are departing from Beijing North Railway Station to Badaling Great Wall Railway Station.

It takes about 19 - 55 minutes to finish the travel distance of 60 - 75 kilometers (37 - 47 miles).

The ticket fare of a second class seat is CNY 16 - 28 (USD 2 - 4), and of a first class seat is CNY 26 - 45 (USD 4 - 6) .

Which Railway Station to Choose and How to Get There

Beijing North Railway Station

Beijing North Railway Station is the terminal station of Beijing – Zhangjiakou High Speed Railway Line. It is next to Xizhimen in Xicheng District which is only 8 km (5 mi) to the city center. Passengers can take subway line 2, line 4, line 13 to Xizhimen or city bus line 16, 21, 26, 80, 87, 145, 331, 360, 362, 375, 438, 534, 563, 632, 651,  Night Bus Line 8, 14, 21 to the railway station.
 

Qinghe Railway Station

Qinghe Railway Station is in Haidian District, about 21 kilometers (13 miles) to downtown Beijing. Qinghe subway station along subway line 13 and Changping Line shares the station hall with the train station. City bus line 320, 495, 521, 544, 603, 623 Special Line 139, Daxing Airport Bus Tiantongyuan Line, Night Bus Line 4 are available next to the train station.
 

Badaling Great Wall Railway Station

Located in Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area, it is a high speed train station built to facilitate the transportation in the scenic spot. Passengers can take high speed trains from Beijing, Zhangjiakou, Hohhot and so on to get there. After getting off, tourists can walk 2 - 4 minutes to the cable car to the Badaling Great Wall or walk 800 meters (875 yards) to the climbing entrance.
 

Other Transportation from Beijing to Badaling Great Wall

1. S2 Trains

S2 Trains run from Huangtudian Railway Station next to Huoying subway station along subway line 8 to Yanqing Train Station in Yanqing District with Badaling Railway Station as a stop. There are 14 trains from Huangtudian to Badaling during 07:25 - 18:21 on each Tue. Wed. & Thu. and 18 trains during 07:21 - 18:21 on each Mon. Fri. Sat. Sun. & Public Holidays. The duration is about 1 hour and the ticket costs CNY 5 / person. Free shuttle buses are travelling between the train station and Badaling Great Wall cable car station. If you want to climb the Great Wall by yourself, you can walk southeast for 1.6 kilometers (1 miles) to the climbing entrance.
 

2. City Bus Line 877

Bus line 877 is a non-stop bus between Deshengmen and Badaling Great Wall. It operates from 06:00 to 12:30 during April 1 – November 15 and from 06:30 to 12:30 during November 16 - March 31 with a ticket fare of CNY 12 / person. The climbing entrance is about 300 meters (328 yards) northeast to the bus stop and the cable car lower station is about 2 km (1.2 mi) away.

No tickets
on 24.12. I don't get a ticket with express train from Badaling to Beijing, can I get one directly on the train although there is no free ticket online at 14:00?

I'm afraid you cannot. You may choose another way to reach Badaling.

The trains just back in service, however, the tickets seems hard to get. You may consider to buy tickets for a longer trip to Zhangjiakou or Taizicheng etc. and get off in advance at Badaling Great Wall. Before you book the tickets, please check detailed stopover list to make sure the one you choose do have stop at Badaling. Hope for your advanced noticed.
