How to Get to Badaling Great Wall
How Far is Badaling Great Wall from Beijing?

When traveling to the Badaling Great Wall, the high-speed train offers the fastest way, yet securing tickets can be difficult due to its popularity. The 877 bus departing from Deshengmen and the tour bus departing from Qianmen are both direct routes to the Great Wall of Badaling, which are good options. The S2 train and the 919 bus are also available but not recommended as they do not go directly to Badaling and require a transfer to a shuttle bus. 9-hour Layover in Beijing: Can I go to Badaling Great Wall?
I have a layover on April 2, 2024, Tuesday from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM in Beijing, and was wondering if it will be possible for me to visit the Great Wall at Badaling given this limited time? I thought it would be easier to go to Badaling because of the high-speed train and would cut down the time it would take to get there compared to going to Mutianyu. Your thoughts would be really helpful!

I think the time is too tight for a Great Wall visit. Though the train to Badaling can cut some time, the travel time between the airport and railway station is still long. What's more, the train tickets are always in hot demands and it is really hard to book.

From Badaling Great Wall to Longqingxia: Take bus no.919 to Guishui Beijie South Bus Stop and transfer to bus no.Y43 to Longqingxia. Walk north to find the scenic area.
From Longqingxia to Qianmen: Take a taxi to Huoying Bus Stop. Then take metro line 13 to Dongzhimen Station and transfer to metro line 2 to Qianmen Station.
Generally speaking, the sightseeing time is a little bit tight. You are suggested to spend two days to tour around these two scenic areas.
