2 Days Mini Group Beijing Tour, No Shopping

This morning, at the appointed time, your guide and driver will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel. After a warm greeting, we will set off to start this 2 days Beijing mini group tour.


We will firstly drive to Tiananmen Square, the important center of Chinese political activities. After around 30 minutes' photo time in the square, we will go to visit the Forbidden City, which is due north of the square. With over 70 palaces and 9,000 houses, the Forbidden City is the largest royal palace complex in the world which has left us with many valuable cultural and historical heritages. As you walk around the grand palace, you will not only appreciate the heritage buildings with gorgeous ornaments but also learn about the lives of the ancient Chinese emperors. We will assure you enough time exploring the palace.

Important note: Entrance tickets of the Forbidden City are usually released online 7 days in advance and could be easily sold out in one hour. Kindly advise you to book the tour at least 8 days before since the ticket purchase is based on the real name policy.
We will take a 1.5-hour drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall. To avoid the tourist food eateries in the scenic area and to ensure you more time on the wall, today's lunch is on your own arrangement, and your guide is glad to be at your assistance. You may have some fast food like Subway, Burger King, or simple Chinese meal for lunch, or if you want, you may buy some take-away food and have a picnic on the wall. Usually, it costs about US$7 per person for the lunch.


Now we will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is the essence of the wall in the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD). Winding up and down along the tops of steep continuous mountains, it is well preserved and fully radiates the grandeur of the Great Wall. Besides, more than 90% vegetation coverage makes the surrounding landscape enchanting at all seasons.
On Foot: Hiking and climbing the wall is not difficult for most visitors. The mountain road reaching to the watchtowers has approximately 500 steps, which takes about half an hour. There are 2 entrances and 4 routes for hiking leading to No. 6, No. 8 and No. 10 watchtowers on the wall. See details on the above map.

Cable Car: Going up and down the wall by cable car is a much easier way, and a round-trip ticket is more cost-effective. Price reference: CNY120/US$17 for a round trip, CNY100/US$14 for a single way. Your guide will help you purchase the tickets on spot.

Go Up on Foot & Down by Cable Car: You can climb up to the Wall and then take a cable car down at the No. 14 Watchtower.


After the Great Wall tour, we drive back to downtown Beijing. You may take a break in the car for physical recovery, or interact with the guide for something you might be interested in China.

In the morning, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and continue your Beijing group tour.


We will firstly visit the Temple of Heaven, the largest royal ceremonial building groups in China. Emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911 AD) used to hold the annual sacrificial activities here to worship the heaven and pray for a good harvest. Now it has developed into a large park where you could also see the locals doing exercises and recreational activities.

Attention: Since the main historical sites of the Temple of Heaven are closed on Mondays, we will arrange for you a visit to the Beihai Park instead if your travel date happens to meet Monday. This park has stunning landscapes and profound cultural significance. It is very nice to walk around in the morning sunshine and see the locals doing exercises and recreational activities as well. The well-known Nine-Dragon Screen inside is the highlight.
Next, we will continue our visit to Beijing Hutongs. Here we will take a rickshaw to go through the old alleys, the famous Shichahai, Yinding Bridge and Yandaixie Street. Besides, we will also pay a visit to a Hutong family to see how the old Beijingers live. As there are many popular restaurants, cafes and local food stores, we still leave today's lunch on your own choice. It is a good chance to taste the local food. Your guide will offer you suggestions according to your taste. After lunch, you could stroll around Houhai Lake and explore more of the Hutong area.


After the Hutong visit, we will drive to the Lama Temple, which is the largest Buddhist temple in Beijing. It combines the architectural styles of different ethnic groups, including Han, Manchu, Mongol and Tibet. Opening to public in 1981, the Lama Temple welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year for visiting and praying.
An about 30-minute drive will take you to the Summer Palace, which is reputed as the museum of ancient Chinese royal gardens. The whole garden mainly consists of the Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake, which are ingeniously connected by the Long Corridor. The Long Corridor, with 728 meters (796.2 yards) in length, beginning from the Yaoyue (Inviting-Moon) Gate and ending at Shizhang Pavilion, boasts as the longest corridor in Chinese gardens. Your expert guide will show you around, and you might appreciate the exquisite murals and enjoy the melodious music while walking in the palace.
