Jiayuguan - Zhangye Train

There are around 2 pairs of bullet trains operated daily to serve passengers running from Jiayuguan to Zhangye or from Zhangye to Jiayuguan up to now. It takes around 1.5 hours to cover a total distance of about 212 kilometers (132 miles). The ticket fare for a second class seat is CNY 65.5.

Besides, a few normal speed trains are available for passengers travelling between Jiayuguan Railway Station and Zhangye Railway Station. The fast ones take no more than 2 hours. But their ticket fare is lower, only CNY 37.5 for a hard seat.

Meal on train D2749 from Zhangye West to Dunhuang?

Can we buy meals on the train?

It is hard to say if formal meal for sale on the train. You'd better take meal of your own. It is OK to take own food but security is very strict with drinks, so buy drinks inside station and on the train would be more convenient.

How far is this main station to Jiayuguan South Station?

Which one is closer to the Great Wall?

The distance is about 10km between and takes around 10min by taxi. If by bus, it takes much longer time. For distance, the main station is closer to the wall but there are only slow trains there. If you will coming by high speed train, the South Station would be your only option.

It is hard to use public bus, it is better to use taxi or your can rent a car directly for visiting in Jiayuguan. A taxi only take about 20min on the way.
