Jiayuguan South Railway Station
Jiayuguan South Railway Station operates high speed trains to/from Xi’an, Lanzhou, Urumqi and Xining.
It is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from city center, 15 kilometers (10 miles) from Jiayuguan Great Wall, 15 kilometers (10 miles) from Jiayuguan Railway Station and 20 kilometers (10 miles) from Jiayuguan Airport.

Major Rail Lines from Jiayuguan Railway Station to: Passengers can take city bus 10 or 12 to Jiayuguan South Train Station directly.
Visitors can take city bus 12 to the South of Runze Garden, then transfer to city bus 6 in the same bus stop to get there.
Visitors can also take a taxi to get there directly. If get there by taxi, the fare is about CNY 40 and the duration is about 40 minutes.
Jiayuguan Great Wall, The First Fire Tower of the Great Wall and the Overhanging Great Wall are quite close. It is more convenient for visitors to charter a car to visit the three scenic spots in one day. The rental fee is around CNY 150-200.
Passengers can take city bus 12 to go there directly which may cost about one hour.
Or get to the railway station by taxi, needing about CNY 20. It may take about 15 minutes to get there.
Passengers can take city bus 10 to the Long Distance Bus Terminal (Qichezhan), go north along Shengli Middle Road, turn right at the first crossing to Lanxin West Road, then walk about 500 meters (550 yards) to Xiongguan Commercial Building, then take the airport bus to get to the airport. The airport bus departs only when there is a flight. The tick fare is about CNY 15 and the duration is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
If take a taxi to go there. The fare is about CNY 30 and the duration is about half an hour.

Our party of 6 would like to go to Shanghai, some of them want to stop at Xi'an to visit the famous Terra Cottas, what can you suggest?

00ReplyThis is a good idea as Terra Cotta Warriors are very famous and worth visiting. There are two types of trains between Jiayuguan to Xi'an, the high speed rails take about 9-10 hours during the day time, while the ordinary ones take about 19 hours, the suitable schedules are K1352 12:07/ 06:40 +1 and K368 14:02/ 09:39. If you do want to say one night in Xi'an, then we can arrange a guided tour to visit the site and then transfer you back to railway station for your overnight train heading to Shanghai. Of course there are other landmark sites in Xi'an, we are glad to make arrangements for you if your time permits.

I plan to travel in mid-September, please advise ticket fare and train timetable.

00Reply3 trains a day, at 6:51am, 12:36pm and 18:18pm. They run 2.5 hours on the way until reaching Dunhuang. Only first class and second class seats offered. It would be USD16 for second class and USD26 for first class.

00Replyyes, 9 D rides to Zhangye West and another 30 rides (slow rides) to Zhangye Station.
