Lanzhou - Jiayuguan Train
About 11 pairs of high speed trains are available between Lanzhou West Railway Station and Jiayuguan South Railway Station, where the west end of Ming Great Wall is located. It takes 4.5-5 hours to finish this 710-kilometer-long (about 441 miles) journey and the ticket fare for a second class seat is CNY215. The normal speed overnight sleeper trains also run between, taking a longer time of 6-11 hours and costing CNY223 at most for a hard sleeper.
A high speed rail trip saving some time is a good option for those who travel in a hurry. The facilities and environment on high speed trains are much better. 00ReplyI know there is an afternoon train at 17:30 from Jiayuguan Long Distance Bus Station to Lanzhou. It should take around 10 hours on the way considering the distance. The bus station is at No. 312 West Lanxin Street.

00ReplyIf you take bus, you can use bus No. K102 (the 9th stop) or bus 31 (the 14th stop) first and then finally walk around 800m to the hotel. Bus service can be a little bit challenged so for more convenient way, taxi is indeed better. It takes around 30min on the way and may cost around CNY30 to 40.

00ReplySecond class seat is OK and acceptable by most people. The space is larger than much economy class on flight. However, indeed a 5 hours trip is still a little tired and boring, movies would be good to kill time. If you do not mind using sleeper bed on overnight rides, I think T6601 is also very good option. You can reach your destination after you good sleep.
