How to Travel from Jiayuguan Airport to Jiayuguan South Railway Station
1: Take airport shuttle bus to Vienna Hotel and walk about 410 meters (448 yards) to Justice Bureau, then transfer the city bus line 10 and get off at Jiayuguan South Railway Station. It costs CNY 16 and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
2: Taxi
After taking airport shuttle bus to Vienna Hotel, passenger also can take a taxi to Jiayuguan South Railway Station, which takes about 40 minutes and costs CNY 50.

1: The Great Wall First Abutment
The Great Wall First Abutment is located at the southernmost end of the West Great Wall of Jiayuguan and is the abutment at the western end of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). The natural scenery of the Great Wall Abutment is spectacular. The peaks are covered with snow all the year round, reflecting the blue sky, making it more fresh and picturesque. This tourist attraction is themed by Great Wall culture and the Silk Road culture and based on the Gobi scenery and northwest folk customs which is suitable for sightseeing, exploration, leisure, entertainment, nostalgia travel and film & television shooting.
2: Jiayuguan Fortress
Jiayuguan Fortress is in the southwest of Jiayuguan City. It is located on Jiayu Mountain, the highest terrain. Founded in Ming Dynasty (1372), it has lasted for 168 years (1372-1539). This well-preserved fortress is one of the most dangerous passes along the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. If visitors climb high on a sunny day, they will enjoy the peculiar scenery of mirages, and have a good view of the scenic area. May to October is the best time to visit Jiayuguan Fortress.
3: The July 1st Glacier
The July 1st Glacier is located in the southwest of Jiayuguan City. Discovered by Chinese scientists and glaciologists on July 1, 1958, it is named so. Every summer and autumn, the ice peak shines brightly under the blue sky. Together with the rippling streams and alpine pastures with green grass and flowers, it forms a quiet and lively charming picture scroll. Because of the high altitude of the glacier, tourists is often able to experience four seasons in one day. They can always encounter the change of weather on the way of climbing like cloudy, sunny, rainy and snowy, which is an unforgettable experience in their life. As a result, it attracts countless mountaineering enthusiasts and tourists every year. October is a good time to climb the July 1 Glacier.
