Changsha - Huangshan Train

Two high speed trains are available for passengers traveling from Changsha to Huangshan and 4 for Huangshan to Changsha. They are operated at Changsha South Railway Station and Huangshan North Railway Station. A single trip takes around 3.5 - 7.5 hours and a ride on a second class seat costs CNY 366 - 631 and on a first class seat costs CNY 602 - 1,009. There is no normal speed sleeper train serving this route at present.

Running Route of Changsha – Huangshan High Speed Train

1. Changsha – Shangrao: This is a section of Shanghai – Kunming High Speed Railway. The stations along the section include Liling East, Pingxiang North, Yichun, Xinyu North, Gao’an, Nanchang West, Jinxian South, Fuzhou East, Yingtan North, Yiyang. The part between Changsha and Nanchang West was opened on September 16, 2014 and the part between Nanchang West and Shangrao was opened on December 10, 2014.

2. Shangrao – Huangshan: Opened on June 28, 2015, this is a section of Hefei – Fuzhou High Speed Railway, the reputed “one of the most scenic railways in China” for picturesque natural scenery outside the windows. The passer-by stations include Dexing, and Wuyuan, “China’s most beautiful countryside”.
 

Travel Tips of Changsha – Huangshan Train

1. Since there are only 2 Changsha to Huangshan trains and 4 vice versa, the tickets might be sold out in no time once released. To guarantee a smooth trip, you are advised to book a ticket as early as possible.

2. If the tickets are sold out or the current schedule does not meet your travel time, you can make a transfer at other railway stations. To save time, big railway stations with frequent departures and arrivals along the way are recommended, like Nanchang West and Shangrao. Based on the current schedule, Shangrao, as the junction station, is the best choice for more connected choices.

3. Huangshan North Railway Station is not located near the Yellow Mountain. But there are direct buses sending passengers there. The buses are available at the front square of the railway station from 09:00 to 18:20 which depart every an hour. It takes about an hour to reach the scenic area from the railway station.
