Generally, there is no problem to take them. Although the official document claims the overall weight of the luggage should not be over 20kg and the combined length, height, and width of bags cannot exceed 130 cm (51 inches), in fact, they generally don't check it very strictly. Anyway, if they happen to check it, you may be charged more for the overweight part.

Metro is still in service even after 9:30pm. You can use the metro line 2 to Changsha Station and exit from gate No. 2. The hotel is about 1km away in the north direction.

Well, this depends on your departure time. If you are very flexible in time, G80 should be the most recommended one as it is the fastest one. However, it means you need to reach station very early in the morning. G100 has more comfortable time but the tickets are very hard to get. G6114 is the one most likely to get a tickets as Changsha is its final stop.

Indeed the tickets are hardly found on G80 to Changsha because its final destination is Beijing. Therefore, most tickets were offered to Beijing instead. If you need to travel in the morning, you would need to consider the transfer in Guangzhou.
