In Huangshan, all the rides stop at Huangshan North Railway Station which is about 11 miles (18 kilometers) away from the city center. There, a special bus route has connected the station with city center.
In addition, there are usually 3 flights a day between as well. The ticket price is usually higher but cut the duration to only 2 hours. Up to now, there is direct transfer to Yellow Mountain from the airport. Travelers may choose taxi instead or make a transfer at the downtown Tunxi.
There are express buses to the Yellow Mountain directly. Usually, The express buses are available 09:00 to 17:40 from the station to the Yellow Mountain and 07:30 to 18:20 vice versa. However, the schedule may change in different seasons, thus it is recommended to further confirm it as soon as you arrive there. The whole journey takes about 2 hours and costs CNY 20 per person.

If we booked the train at 7:45am to Huangshan North, how early should we be at station?

Usually we suggest our clients to be at station around 1.5 hours before departure time in case there is a long queue for ticket collection and security check. If you will have paper tickets in hand, around 40min at station in advance would be OK. If you are traveling during public holidays, you may need extra time for unexpected crowds.

Yes, there is such service in the business service center but it only works the same time as station opening time, not 24 hours service.

Which is closer to the mountain?

Huangshan Station is the one in Tunxi District. If see from distance, the North Station seems a little closer to the mountain.
