After the open of high speed railway between Wuhan and Zhengzhou, the original journey time by rail had been halved to 1.5 - 4 hours. By now, there are over 80 pairs of high speed trains shuttling between the 2 cities on a daily basis with the shortest running distance of 536 km (333 mi). The minimum ticket fare is CNY 184 for a second class seat. In addition, about 40 pairs of normal speed trains are operated between the 2 cities as well; the general duration is about 4.5 - 9 hours.

Is Zhengzhou the final stop of the train?

If not, is there broadcast in English to remind passengers to get off?

For most of these trains, Zhengzhou is not the final stop. However, you do not need to worry about it. When one station is approaching, the station name will shows on the screen on carriage door, in both English and Chinese. You can read it easily and make preparation in advance.

Dorsett Wuhan to Wuhan Railway Station

bus, subway, taxi? Any advice? Is traffic bad in week days at afternoon time?

I think metro should be the best option for you. By metro service, you do not need to worry about the traffic problem. The time for transfer is easy to control. There is a metro station called Jianghanlu near your hotel. You can walk to the metro station and take line 2 to Hongshanguangchang and then change to line 4 at the same station. Line 4 will take you to the railway station directly. Take the waiting time etc. into consideration, it should take within 40min.
