Kunming - Huangshan Train

Currently, neither high speed trains nor normal speed trains are operated between Kunming and Huangshan. Therefore, passengers could transer in Changsha or Shangrao, with a duration of 11 hours at most on the high speed trains. Besides, the only direct flight is also a fast way to travel between the two cities, taking 2 hours 45 minutes and CNY 1,930 at most for economy class. Other transportation ways are also aivilable.

Other Fast Option: Kunming - Huangshan Flight

This is probably the most time-saving way to travel between Kunming and Huangshan nowadays as there is one direct flight in service every day. MU9751 takes off from Kunming Changshui Airport at 08:20 and lands at Huangshan Tunxi Airport at 11:05. Passengers will spend 2h 45m on the flight, and CNY 1,930 per person, at the full price, for economy class. For the return trip from Huangshan to Kunming, the flight MU9752 18:15-20:50 is available.

This is another time-saving way except for the direct flight.

To travel in the above way, passengers need to transfer between Hefei Airport and Hefei South Railway Station. The airport shuttle bus line 3 is running between with the duration of around an hour. If by taxi, it also takes about an hour costing around CNY 120.

Passengers can also choose to make this transfer in Hangzhou. The overall duration by is around 5 hours.

The most efficient way to reach Huangshan from Kunming

Is it recommended to use high speed train transfer option or the flight to Hefei and then to Huangshan by high speed rail?

The fastest way should be by flight, but I would recommend Shanghai for transfer. It is important to choose Shanghai Hongqiao Airport as your landing airport so it is convenient to change to train service at Hongqiao Railway Station nearby.

ticket on train from Kunming to Shangrao to Huangshan

Do I get one ticket for the whole trip or two different tickets? Will the service fee charged for one leg or both?

It is advisable to collect the paper tickets out for both trips in advance to save your time needed during this transfer.
