Kaili Train Schedule & Stations

Train is one of the most popular transports to get to Kaili, one of China's hot tourism destinations and which attracts travelers from home and aboard by its unique customs of ethnic minorities like Miao and Dong. Two railway stations are in use in that city currently:

Kaili South Railway Station stands on Changsha-Kunming High Speed Railway which is a part of Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Railway and plays an important role in connecting the Southwest China with other parts by high speed trains. It mainly offers rail service to cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Changsha, and Guiyang; the bullet trains to Kunming will also be available here by the end of 2016.

Kaili Railway Station

Address: No. 88, Qingjiang Road

The station is only about 2.5 miles (4 km) away from the downtown area, 11 miles (18 km) away from the South Railway Station, 22 miles (36 km) away from the Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village and 20 miles (32 km) away from the Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village.

The ticket office is on the first floor, passengers can buy the ticket and collect the online booked ticket there first and then go upstairs to the waiting rooms on the second floor.

Bus and taxi are frequently used. The bus No. 1, 2, 11 and 20 can be found on the front square.

 How to get to other places from Kaili Train Station:

To Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village: Travelers can take bus No. 1 to the Kaili Coach Station and take the coach to get there. The coach takes around 1 hour on the way and the ticket fare is around CNY25.

Travelers can also rent a car to get there directly, the cost would be around CNY130 to CNY150. If by carpool, the cost may be around CNY30 per person.

To Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village: Travelers still need to go for the Kaili Coach Station first and then take a coach to get there. The coach duration is about 45 minutes to 1 hour and the ticket fare is around CNY9.

To South Railway Station: The bus No. 20 can take passengers to the South station directly. The duration is around 1 hour and ticket fare is CNY6 per person. The bus departs around every 30 minutes. If by taxi, the duration is around 30 to 40 minutes and the taxi fare is around CNY10 to 20 per person.

Compared with the above main station, this one is a little far in distance, about 9 miles (14.5 km) away from the downtown area, 28 miles (45 km) away from the Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village and 26.5 miles (43 km) away from the Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village.

Although it is a little far from the city center, there are city buses available for transfer, which include buses No. 16, 20, 21, 301 and 302.

 How to get to other places from Kaili South Train Station:

To Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village: Travelers can take bus No. 21 to the Kaili Coach Station and then take a coach to the destination. The bus No. 21 runs around every 20 to 30 minutes and the ticket fare is CNY6 per person. Taking a taxi to the Coach Station is around CNY20 per person.

Travelers can also choose to rent a car to the Miao Village directly. It would cost around CNY150 to CNY180. If by carpool, it may cost around CNY40 to 50 per person.

To Langde Miao Ethnic Minority Village: Travelers still need to take bus No. 21 or taxi to the Coach Station and then take a coach to get there.
