The high speed trains running overnight are not in service presently. There are traditional types available, taking as long as one day and one night, so not recommended. BTW, there are direct flights available.

Ah, okay thank you so much! The problem with flights is that most of them are pretty expensive, but I'll take a look.

Is early November still considered high season for visiting HK and Xi'an?
When is the best time to buy ticket with lower price? Thank you.

November should be a normal season as no any holiday around that time. If you are looking for train ticket, the price will not change due to off season. The ticket price is fixed all year round. If you are looking for flight ticket, it should be a little bit cheaper than summer holiday time. You may check it around September or October.

How about to take transfer in Zhengzhou?
Do you think it is a good option or Guangzhou/Shenzhen is better?

This option surely works well also, but as there is only one train a day at 8:05am, your departure time have to be fixed at that time. If the time works well, it is a good option too and a little faster. I think the total duration should be around 9.5 hours. The ticket price is however, also the highest one, CNY1,107 per person.

How long would it take to change from G80 to the next train to Xi'an?
Also, how early should I reach the station in HK?

With paper tickets for both trips in hand, 30min would be fine. In this way, it means you need to reach West Kowloon Station early in advance, maybe 2 hours to collect both tickets. Also, there will be a fee charged if you collect the Zhengzhou-Xi'an trip tickets. If you will do the collection for second trip in Zhengzhou, you can do it for free, but 1.5 hours between the two trips would be necessary.
