The railway distance between Hanoi and Danang is 790km (490miles), and travel time is about 15 to 16 hours. Danang is the fourth largest city in Vietnam, and is business, tourism and economy center connects the north and south area of the country. Many immigrants choose to live here. What’s more, Da Nang is near to the world cultural heritage Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, which are very popular scenic spots with great reputation all over the world.

Although flights and buses are available between Hanoi and Da Nang, there are still many travelers prefer to take the overnight sleeper trains, which is a good way to explore the local life style and enjoy the city, county side and beautiful views long the coast. There are totally 5 pairs of trains between Hanoi and Danang, 3 of them are overnight trains and 2 of them are day time trains. Luxury tourist trains are also available on this route.
 

Travel to Hoi An from Da Nang

Hoi An is a must go place for your Vietnam travel. You only need to spend less than one hour for the transfer from Da Nang to Hoi An, the distance is about 30km (18miles), which is suitable for bus, taxi even motorbike. You could book a taxi or private transfer service with your hotel or ticket agent like The Sinh Tourist.

Hanoi Railway Station (Hanoi Central Station)

Address: Main Gate A, 120 Lê Duẩn, Hoàn Kiếm District, Hanoi, Vietnam
How to Get: It is located in the city center, you could take bus No. 86, 86CT, 01, 32, 38, 40 or CNG03 and get off at Ga Hà Nội.
 

Da Nang Railway Station

Vietnamese: Ga Đà Nẵng
Address: 791, Hai Phong Street, Thanh Khe District, Danang
How to Get: You could take taxi or bus. You could take bus No. 01, 02, 03 or 06 and get off at 162 Ong Ich Khiem.
 

Hanoi to Da Nang Train Schedules


There are 5 trains from Hanoi to Da Nang each day, SE1, SE3, SE5, SE7 and SE19. VIP berths are only available on Laman Express with train number SE19. Soft seats are available on all of the state-run Reunification Expresses.

Da Nang to Hanoi to Train Schedule


The same as Hanoi to Da Nang, there are 5 trains from Danang to Hanoi each day. However, there are only two luxury tourist trains serve on this line, which are Livitrans Express on SE4 and Lotus Express on SE20. What’s more, there is no VIP Berth available. The best berth is Soft sleeper on Livitrans Express.
