Basic Information
Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, is the sixth populous city in Russia. It lies at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka rivers in central European Russia. It is also a popular and convenient stop between Ekaterinburg and Moscow during the Trans-Siberian trip. Traveling by train between Moscow and Kazan is the most popular transportation means on this route. The overall running distance is 793 km, and there are 8-10 daily departures between the two cities.
