Then, in the second half, the low temperature increases to above 0°C (32℉), and the high temperature is usually above 10°C (50℉). Clothes: Because of the not-warm climate of Jiuzhaigou in February, thermal shirts are necessary as the inner layers. To keep warm and beautiful, you can wear a hoodie or thick shirt outside the thermal shirts. Then, you need to put on a thin padded jacket or thin downcoat. As for the pants, thick winter pants are suitable. Shoes: Thick, non-slip, and waterproof sneakers or walking shoes are the best choices for you, which can not only keep you warm, but also comfortable and safe when walking. Accessories: (1) Sunglasses: The sunshine is strong in Jiuzhaigou because of the high altitude. Besides, looking at snow for a long time may make your eyes uncomfortable. Therefore, sunglasses are essential.

In winter, Jiuzhaigou Valley is no less beautiful than that in other seasons, and even offers some special views that only exist in this season. In February, some of the lakes are semi-frozen, with blue water under the thin ice, which is tranquil and beautiful; while most of the lakes don’t freeze over, and you are still able to enjoy the rippling blue water that you can see in other seasons. Although there are no lush green trees at this time, you may see white snow-covered trees and mountains which form a white fairy land. In addition, you can see the frozen Nuorilang Waterfalls: countless icicles hanging above the cliffs, making a world of blue ice.
2. Experience Tibetan New Year Celebrations
February 28, 2025 marks the Tibetan New Year, one of the most important traditional festivals in Jiuzhaigou. On that day, all Tibetan villages in Jiuzhaigou will organize celebrations and prayers. You will have the opportunity to admire the characteristic Tibetan festival decorations, see the traditional blessing ceremonies of the Tibetan people, watch the ancient Tibetan opera performances, and taste authentic Tibetan cuisine like Tibetan hot pots and Chhaang, a kind of barley beer.

Jiuzhaigou has an abundance of hotels with natural hot springs, and in the cold February, there is nothing better than enjoying a hot spring bath at the end of a long day sightseeing.
