Train View
I am looking to travel between Guilin and Shanghai. I am trying to decide whether to take the train or take a plane. Is there a nice scenic view on the high speed train?

mainly countryside view if you travel by rail. Personally speaking, I think 9 hours trip is a little long. But if you want a chance to experience high speed rail service, you may consider one way trip by rail and one way trip by flight.

Yes, it is the off season, you can find discount over 50% off unless you are traveling on the first 3 days of Jan which is a 3 days holiday.

Which station in Guilin?
I will take G1501 and I want to know which station do I need to alight? Is it the North Station? I heard North Station is the high speed station? Is it far from my hotel Riverside Inn Guilin Central?

This G1501 will stop at Guilin Railway Station, the one in the city center, not the North Station. The address is No. 39 South Zhongshan Road. It is not far from your hotel, only 1km. You can even walk to reach the hotel.

G1504 and G1506 go from Guilin railway station, the main station, not north or west
