Guangzhou - Humen Train

At present, a dense rail connection is formed between Guangzhou and Humen with the help of more than 120 pairs of high speed trains from Guangzhou to Humen and about 100 vice versa. The duration of about 17 - 46 minutes is enough for them to complete a single ride of 50/ 97 km (31/ 60 mi). The lowest ticket price of a second class seat is CNY 23. Currently no normal speed trains are operated between these two cities.

Humen Railway Station

Located at the north part of Humen Town, Dongguan City, this station is one of the important termination Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Railway whose whole running distance is 142 km (88 mi). Put into use since December 26, 2011, this station has a distance of about 8 km (4.9 mi) to the town center.

What differentiates this station from others is that its platform of bullet trains is on an elevated bridge which is around 18 meters (59 feet) above the ground. So it is hailed as “a railway station in the air”.

The station consists of three levels. The first level serves as the ticket hall and the middle level is the waiting hall, both of whom are under the elevated bridge. On the bridge lies the third level, which is the platform for boarding and leaving the bullet trains.

At present, there is metro line 2 shuttling between Dongguan Railway Station and Humen Railway Station daily. Besides, bus nos. 201, 202, 205, 210, 212, 218, 222, 227, 229, 233, 237, 239, 248, 249, and 267 also connect this station with other parts of the town.
 

How to Get to Humen Naval Battle Museum from Humen Railway Station

Passengers can walk around 450 meters (492 yards) to the bus stop near the Humen Railway Station, and then take 212 and 229 directly to reach the famous spot. The total duration is around one hour.

When is the last train of line 2 at Humen Station to Dongguan Station direction?
If our train reached at 10pm, can we still find line 2?

No problem, they should have considered the needs of rail passengers. The last one should be at 11pm.

Is it really necessary to be at the station 2 hours in advance for a 17min's ride?

Yes, indeed the times at station is much longer than time on the train itself. If you do not have to take a train at appoint time, you can just buy a ticket with closest departure time at station. This maybe faster, but surely, in this case, you may need to check the ticket availability more often online.

Usually we suggest clients to prepare about 1 hours for luggage collection and immigration check at the airport. If for domestic flight, 45min may needed. To transfer from airport to South Railway Station, it takes about 1.5 hours on the way by metro. To have enough time for ticket collection at railway station, it is better to reach the station at least 1 hour in advance. Therefore, it seems that you need G825 at 9:53pm. Since it is the final ride of a day, it is better to book it in advance to guarantee a seat. Hope the information above can help you.
