If you want to make a phone call outside a certain city, then the area code is needed. The area code search function is easy for you to select a city to search for its area code or input a code to find its location.

Zip code is the postal code used when mailing a letter, a postcard or a parcel. Use this new function to get the zip code of your destination or trace the location through a certain zip code.

Training Tour to Yangtze River

Published: August 7, 2009

TravelChinaGuide arranged a training tour on Yangtze River (Chongqing-Yichang) for a group of employees. The entire tour lasted nearly a week, including 4 days (Aug. 2 - 5) on the deluxe 5 star cruise ship, The Victoria Katarina.

After 11 hours' train journey from Xi'an to Chongqing before boarding the deluxe ship, the employees had several free hours to get around Chongqing City and go shopping. Ci Qi Kou is a well-known ancient village. Along with the development of local tourism, this village retains its former old building and start business related to tourism. There are many handcraft stores and specialties. Getting back to downtown Chongqing, Liberation Monument area is the busiest commercial center and the monument can be regarded as the most symbolic building of this city.

The cruise ship departed at 21:00, Aug. 2. It has 5 deck levels with Shangri-La suits, deluxe suits, junior suits and standard cabins. All cabins and suites have private balcony.

Next morning, there was a shore excursion to Snowy Jade Cave or the Fengdu Ghost City alternatively. Snowy Jade Cave is a new attraction along the Yangtze River. The ghost city was arranged at this time. After sailing through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge on Aug. 4, they had an excursion to Shennong Stream and Three Gorges Ship Locks. On the last day, it was Three Gorges Dam Site which was the last attraction on the schedule. Then disembark Yichang at 1:30pm.

Buffet meals served on the ship were very nice. More attractions could be visited during the cruise period, such as Baidi City. Three Little Gorges are alternative to replace Shennong Stream. Field trip is a great help for a tour operator to make tour itineraries suitable for our clients. For tourists to Yangtze River Cruise, we provide detailed information and considerate suggestion to help them choose a ship according to their own time and travel plan.

TravelChinaGuide's Survey on Shandan Great Wall in Danger

Published: July 23, 2009

Having a concern for the protection of the Great Wall, TravelChinaGuide sent an observation group to pay a return tour to the old portion of Great Wall in Shandan County, Gansu Province in July 2009. This was the second visit in seven years, when the Great Wall in Shandan was the best preserved among the walls made of rammed earth.

However, such an important cultural relic has not been protected well in the past years. The result of the second thorough investigation by TravelChinaGuide will sadden all the visitors and wall lovers. We felt sorry when we faced the broken walls, fortresses and beacon towers, some of which are difficult to recognize. Some areas nearby the wall have become farmland. Shepherds and their sheep wander around and rest randomly at the foot of the rammed-earth Great Wall just as if it were any nameless mounds.

We took a lot of pictures of the destroyed Great Wall and talked with some locals to learn about their life condition and difficulties in protecting the walls. After this visit, we soon sent letters and pictures to Gansu Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics and China State Administration of Cultural Heritage, in the hope that more attention can be paid to the Great Wall protection. To protect the cultural heritages is to protect humans' spiritual homeland. We called for more participation and efforts involving in the preservation of the home of our spirit.
