China Travel Q & A Column Optimized

TravelChinaGuide has successfully run the China Travel Q & A column for over one year since the October of 2008. It provides a special place for travelers to post all their questions or answer queries from others, offering a wonderful community for expats to share China tour experience and help one another.

To enhance the intercommunication and interaction among users, we have just finished Q&A optimization and created a better user experience. A summary page of Q & A is available in each China city travel guide, such as Beijing Q & A, Shanghai Q & A. We also recruit experts to join our membership and expect professional, latest and most accurate information on a certain topic. At present, there are postings from 500 users everyday, meanwhile, 300 users make online responses. Here, helpful dialogs are made constantly available to offer more useful facts on traveling China.

TravelChinaGuide Added Hotel Maps

Maps with every hotel listed in China Hotels on TravelChinaGuide.com are ready and in service now. We marked all the hotels on an electronic map, giving a clear direction to every hotel location in the city. For example, entering the page of Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing, you can see a small map on the right side of the page. Click the image to enlarge the map showing where the hotel is exactly located. Nearby hotels in this area are also marked on the map. In this enlarged map page, you can continue to search for other hotels. Hope you find this new function useful.

Score Function Newly Online

A green rating bar has been added in basic content pages beneath the title. It now allows readers to give ratings based on their opinions after their real experience on the topic or browsing the whole text. You can rate a city, an attraction, a city's transportation, food, shopping places, nightlife and other aspects.

Refer to the web page of The Bund, Shanghai. The green rating bar (under the page title 'The Bund, Shanghai' and above the 'Ask Questions' button) is divided into five grades. Click one to give a mark. Base on how satisfied are you with the topic, a full mark is given to say 'terrific', 4 points 'good', 3 points 'average', 2 points 'poor' and 1 point 'awful'. The average score and number of ratings in total are also shown.

Chinese Food Cooking Class Open Online

TravelChinaGuide.com launched a new column, Chinese Food Cooking Class, to give lessons on various Chinese foods and cooking knowledge. In this part, tens of recipes of vegetable, meat and cold dishes, staple food, soups as well as seafood are listed with pictures to show ingredients, seasonings and the whole cooking process. You can follow the detailed description to prepare ingredients and cook step by step.

We also prepared Chinese cooking knowledge for a better understanding of China cuisine and culinary skills, such as introduction to Chinese vegetable, seasoning, kitchenware, cooking methods and festival food.
