TravelChinaGuide 2012 Yangtze Training Tour
Published: July 18, 2012
A small group of TravelChinaGuide’s department heads had a 5D4N training tour on the Yangtze River from July 11 to 15. Actually, they started early on July 10. Through a whole day’s train trip from Xi'an to Yichang, they arrived at Yichang East Railway Station at midnight. Then, they hurried to Yichang Dock to embark by taxi.
Our Staff on Yangtze Cruise Ship |
The actual cruise started at 07:00 on July 11 on President Prime which is a super 5-star classical European style cruise ship and has just been put into use since April 2011. During the trip the cruise ship sailed through Xiling Gorge, Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge successively. They also had two shore excursions to the Three Gorges Dam and Fengdu Ghost City as well as one boat excursion to the Shennong Stream.
Rather than a tour purely for entertainment, it is indeed field trip on the President Prime since our cooperation. Thus, department heads were divided into groups to have an overall investigation of the entire vessel, including the deck, the lobby, dinning hall, public areas, communication systems, banquet and conference facilities, leisure facilities, guest rooms, meals, etc.
Learn to Speak Chinese Online
Published: May 21, 2012
To help beginners, especially those who will travel to China learn to speak some simple but practical Chinese, TravelChinaGuide has recently added a new column named 'Learn to Speak Chinese' to the original forum of 'Learn Chinese' in our community section.
Currently, we have included some basic everyday expressions that will be of use to foreigners when in China. There are provided with corresponding Chinese pinyin spellings and clear pronunciation in mandarin. These include greetings, self-introduction, asking for directions, ordering dishes in a restaurant, on a city bus/subway or a taxi, in need of assistance, etc. Later, we will gradually add more and more useful expressions to this column based on our personal experience and our guests’ requirements.
We hope that our efforts would be helpful for visitors in China or those who will travel to China at some time in the future.
