Chengdu Tianfu International Airport

Airport Code: TFU

Location: Konggang Avenue, Lujia Town, Jianyang; about 50 km (31mi) southeast from Chengdu city center

Terminals: The modern airport has 2 terminal buildings well equipped with WIFI, Nursing Room, Left Luggage, places to shop and dine, Lost and Found, and all the other needed service and facilities. T1 is for international flights and T2 is for domestic flights.

Passenger Guide

1. Close-time for check-in: The close time for domestic flight check-in is 45 minutes before take-off, while that in GTC is 60 minutes prior. That for international flight is decided by the airlines.

2. Visa policies for overseas transit passengers: If the total layover from the scheduled arrival time to the scheduled departure time is less than 24 hours, passengers can enjoy 24-hour visa-free transit. If it is longer than 24 hours, a visa will be needed, except passport holders of 53 countries and whose itineraries are eligible for 144-hour visa-free transit.

3. How to Transfer between T1 and T2: By free APM. It runs from 05:00 till 00:45 the next day in the check-in area and 5:00 to the arrival of the last domestic flight outside the check-in area. The stations are in B2 of both T1 and T2.

How to Travel between Tianfu Airport and Chengdu Downtown

1. Metro

Metro line 18 connects the airport with Chengdu South Railway Station in town.

Boarding point: In the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) between T1 and T2.

Running Time: 06:03-23:34

Ticket Fare: It costs at least CNY 2 and they further you take, the higher the price. A full single trip to the South Railway Station is CNY10.

2. Airport Bus

Pick-up points: Outside gate 01 of T1 and gate 03 of T2

Interval: 20-30 minutes from 00:00-24:00

Note: There are also long-distance buses running back and forth between the airport and nearby cities including Jianyang, Zigong, Deyang, Rongxian, Lezhi, Anyue, Suining, Renshou, Neijiang, Zizhong, Meishan, Mianyang, Nanchong, Leshan, Hongya and Ya’an.

3. Taxi:

The pick-up points are respectively outside Gate 02 of T1 and Gate 04 of T2.

Hotel

It is connected with T1, T2and GTC and passengers can walk to the check-in counters of both terminals in 5 minutes from the hotel. It opens all day long.

Shopping and Dining

There are restaurants providing both Chinese and western food, cafes and stores selling clothes, books, cosmetics and more. They scatter in the terminal buildings for passengers’ convenience.
