Metro Line 8

Shanghai metro line 8 (also Yangpu Line) opened in December of 2007 is an important north-south line. Its first part stretches 23.3 kilometers (14.5 miles) from Shiguang Rd. in northern Yangpu District to Yaohua Rd. in Pudong New Area. The second part opened in July of 2009 extends southwards from Yaohua Rd. to the Shendu Highway in Minhang District. Now its total length is 37.4 kilometers (23.2 miles) and the whole trip takes about one hour.

Passing seven districts of Shanghai, subway line 8 greatly benefits the residents in Yangpu District. It has 30 stations, which are near many famous attractions and transportation hubs, including Huangxing Park, Hongkou Football Stadium, Xizang Rd., People's Square, Dashijie and Laoximen. The line will be extended southeast to Luhui in the future.

How can I get from Longyang road to Fairmont Peace hotel by metro and then to People Square?

From Longyang Road metro station, you may take metro line 2 to Nanjing East Road, get out from Exit 2 and then walk along Nanjing East Road for about 650 meters to find the hotel.

From the hotel, you may walk back to Nanjing East Road metro station and take metro line 2 for 1 stop to People's Square.

You are suggested to get off at Huangxing Park Station, Exit 1. Then walk southwest around 650 yards (600 meters) to find the hotel.

Pudong Airport to Shanghai Open University (TV University) with luggage more than 20kgs

I wanna go to the Open University, from Pudong Airport, and I take some luggage with me. Can I just ride the subway? thanks.

It is regulated that the luggage taken onboard should be within 23kg. So if yours is just a little bit more than 20kg, it is of course fine to just ride subway.

From Xiangyin Road, you can walk to Xiangyin Road, Shagang Road Station to take bus line 406 to Jufeng Road, Jingao Road Station and then change to take a taxi to reach the Yinhuan West Road.

As I know, Hankou Road is nearer from East Nanjing Road, so you can walk from where you are to East Nanjing Road to take subway line 2 to the airport.
