Passengers can make a bullet train transfer in Xi'an when traveling between Shanghai and Yinchuan. The total travel time will be about 9 hours and the total spending can be CNY 844 - 1,012.5 for taking second class seats.
 

Shanghai - Yinchuan Train vs. Flight

High speed trains may be the first choice for travelers shuttling between the two cities. The tickets should be bought in advance as they are always in great demands.

Normal train travel takes a long time of 33 - 34 hours. This will be a quite long journey. Tourists are advised to take soft sleeper or hard sleeper berth. 

As an alternative, tourists can make a flight travel between the two cities. The direct flights take around 2.5 - 3 hours for a single journey. In peak seasons, the flight tickets cost a little more than rail ticket, while in low season, flight ticket may be cheaper than rail ticket. Take note that flight delays may occur because of weather change or air traffic control.

 Xuzhou
Xuzhou, situated in the northwest of Jiangsu Province, has a long history of more than 2,000 years and has become one of the most important agricultural product bases in China. Going there, you can visit Xuzhou Museum of Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Han Dynasty or Xuzhou Han City. Or you can appreciate the beautiful natural scenery such as Quanshan National Forest Park, Yunlong Mountain or Yunlong Lake.

 Kaifeng
Located at the plain area of eastern Henan Province, Kaifeng is one of the six ancient capitals of China. It has a long history of over 2,700 years and houses many historical sites and cultural relics. When going there, you should not miss Iron Pagoda, Dragon Pavilion, and Memorial Temple of Lord Bao. With a sound transportation system, Kaifeng city can be easily reached via railroad or highroad.
