direct train HK to Shaoguan 2020 Oct 3; return Oct 5. Best alternative for minimum walk?
We have two elderly people, one on wheelchair. We found last trip requiring stopover need too much walking and waiting. So, we appreciate if there's better choice this time. Thanks. Best Regards

Thank you for your inquiry.

Two direct trains were added between Hong Kong and Shaoguan. You can choose one of them. However, currectly all trains in and out of HK are not in service due to the coronavirus. The schedule for October is not clear now. You may wait some days about the train opeation. If there is any update about trains between HK and Shaoguan, we will update information on our website too. Have a nice day!

Thank you for your inquiry.

For non-direct train option, according to the previous schedule, Guangzhou is still considered the best cityfor transfer. Travelers still need some walk within Guangzhou South Station and at least 30min for this transfer. You can take it as a back up option.

Normally tickets would begin for sale 30 days within departure date, but now due to the Covid-19, no any trains are in service from HK to mainland. For both direct and non-direct options, you need to wait some days to see if they will be in service in October. Hope this information can help you a little!

You can walk to the Kowloon MTR station and then take Airport Express or Tung Chung line to Hong Kong. Then walk to Central to take MTR to Wan Chai. Or maybe bus 930 E11. They should be available at that time too.

If I am taking G6114 to Shaoguan, I suppose I do not need a transfer?
I do not need to get off in Guangzhou or Shenzhen for any immigration and luggage claim either?

G6114 is a direct train so you do not need to get off at any stopover. The immigration and luggage check will be at the railway station before your boarding. So once you board the train, there is no other checking or any other transfer.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Shaoguan is a stopover along the long journey on G100 and G6114. Therefore, there could be very little seats offered. When the travel date is very approaching, there might be some seats offered again. For passengers who want to guarantee the tickets in advance, it is recommended to make a transfer in Guangzhou instead. Hope for your kind understanding.
