No direct Beijing to Macau train is available or vice versa. Visitors who prefer a rail trip need to make a transfer.
For relatively frequent train departures, transfer in Guangzhou plus Zhuhai is recommended.
For fewer and more convenient transfer, transit in Zhuhai is advised.

Besides, about 6 pairs of overnight high speed D trains with sleepers are provided between the two cities from Friday to the next Monday. Duration is 10.5 – 22 hours. A soft sleeper costs CNY930 - 1,030 per person and a second class seat costs CNY327 - 709 per person.
The 4 pairs of normal speed trains run between Beijing West Railway Station and Guangzhou Railway Station/ East Railway Station for a distance of about 2,170 kilometers (1,348 miles). Duration is 21.5 - 29 hours. It costs CNY 1,445 for a deluxe soft sleeper, CNY754 - 784 for a soft sleeper, and CNY456 for a hard sleeper.
There are about 65 pairs of bullet trains running between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Zhuhai Railway Station for a distance of 116 kilometers (72 miles). Duration is 1 – 2 hours. It costs CNY205 per person for business class seat, CNY90 per person for a first class seat and CNY65 - 96 per person for a second class seat.

Two pairs of high speed trains are operated between Beijing West Railway Station and Zhuhai Railway Station for a distance of 2,237 kilometers (1,390 miles). Duration is approximately 11.5 hours. The overnight sleeper train D923/D924 departs in the evening and arrives in the next morning, saving one-night accommodation fee and day time. Traveling by D923/D924, passengers are advised to purchase a soft sleeper for the sake of a comfortable journey.

Is it possible to change trains at Guangzhou South Station in 22min?

I was told the minimum time needed is 10min for local people by using a "Transfer" service. It should works to international travelers too but I am not sure if it is easy to find this "Transfer" service. Considering the language problem, I feel it is safer to have longer time to figure it out. If you have no other options than 22min, it worth a risk.

I used to read that there is a meal included in ticket price
May I know if for both second class seat and soft sleeper?

It should be offered to soft sleeper ticket holder only. I never heard there is meal offered to second class seat. If you book second class, you may buy your own food instead.

When I search online, I can see there is a D923 shows for some dates?
Is this a direct train or not? Why it only shows on some dates? Sold out or not available?

D923 is a direct train from Beijing West Station to Zhuhai Railway Station. It only runs on each Friday to next Monday. There are second class seat and soft sleeper bed for sale.
