TravelChinaGuide’s Expedition Tour to Tibet

Published: September 29, 2006

The general manager of TravelChinaGuide led a group of nine company staff members on an expeditionary trip to Tibet area on September 20. The whole journey took a week, and the task contained research into local attractions, restaurants, hotels, transportation and Tibetan family visit. Apart from the city of Lhasa and its famous attractions (Tibet Museum, Potala Palace, Barkor Market, Norbulingka, Sera Monastery, etc), they also went to Shigatse and Shannan regions.

Lhasa has become a mature international tourist city attracting very many visitors from other countries. It is not a problem to find a decent star-rated hotel and excellent restaurants in this city. Transportation in such a remote country as Tibet can be a problem. This coupled with the need for a special permit in order to visit Tibet means that an organized tour is always the best and most convenient option.

Please refer to the selection of Tibet tours prepared by TravenChinaGuide. As an established and trustworthy tour operator we know how and where best to see the essence of Tibet.

On August 8, 2006, all the staff of TravelChinaGuide (abbr. TCG hereinafter) had a happy estival travel to Taibai Mountain National Forest Park (a famous scenic area in Baoji, Shaanxi Province) for the summer leisure out of working time.

Qinling is the watershed of Yangtze River and the Yellow River. As the highest peak of the famous Qinling Mountains in China, the Taibai Mountain, with the altitude of 3,767 meters (12,359 ft), is always emerged its great momentum and imposing spectacularity.

The trip started with a grand feast at noon one day before and then all the TCG's staff were driven to the destination. After spending the night there joyfully with singing, dancing, playing and barbecuing, we set off to climb the mountain the next day. That was an unforgettable mountain trip for us because of the attractive scenic spots on the way and the beautiful scene in the forest park. Finally, we climbed to the "Round Sky and Square Land", with the altitude of 3,511 meters (11,519 ft) where you may find the sky is like a round cover while the land is like a square plate, even you will feel you can touch the sky with your hand.

Each summer, TCG holds an outing which is of great help on relaxing in spare time and harmonizing all members' friendly relationship and warm communication. The trip to Taibai Mountain National Forest Park this time indeed left us the extraordinary experience and recollections that we will never forget.

Yearly Routine Expedition and Incentive Program to Yangtze River

Published: July 31, 2006

With the advance of spring, Yangtze River cruise tours enter high season during April and May. TravelChinaGuide has sent several groups of company staff to make the expedition and incentive program of this year. The first group went in early May and the program will last several months till October. The downstream cruise tour from Chongqing to Yichang or Wuhan is probably more advisable as it takes less time than the upstream cruise. Before and after the cruise ship, there are a few hours in which to have a city tour. Chongqing Foot Street, Ciqikou, Arhat Temple, The Liberation Monument are the most popular places in Chongqing. While in Wuhan, Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, Yellow Crane Pavilion and Guiyuan Temple are suitable places to visit in the downtown area.

A small group of the tour sales department went on a training tour of the Silk Road. They departed from Xi'an, passed through Dunhuang and the trip focused on the Northern Xinjiang area: TurpanUrumqi – Changji and Ili.

The group visited Turpan, covering the Grape Valley, Jiaohe Ancient City, etc and had an Urumqi city tour and dropped off at the famous Xinjiang International Bazaar in the city center. They were driven along the expressway to Dabancheng which is 8km southeast of Urumqi, where there is the largest wind energy base of China, Xinjiang Dabancheng Wind Power Plant. Then they visited the Heavenly Lake in Fukang County, Changji Prefecture; prior to going on to Ili for the Nalati Grassland, an unchanged picturesque pasture.

Based on virtual experiences, there are collections of Silk Road Tours for your reference. Any of your suggestions after a Silk Road trip will be highly respected and very much appreciated.
