Your guide and driver will greet you at the airport or the railway station upon your arrival in Urumqi and then transfer you to check into the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you at leisure.

Today, you will be driven to Fuyun in the northern part of Xinjiang. It is a long drive for about 7 hours. On the way, you could enjoy the extraordinary scenery of the Junngar Basin - the second inland basin in China and pass by the Kalamori Ungulates Nature Reserve, which was opened in 1982 and is the heaven of the rare wild animals, such as asiatic wild ass, aquila chrysaetos and saiga antelope. You may have a chance to encounter those animals. Upon arrival at Fuyun, check in at the hotel for a good rest.

After breakfast, drive about 1 hour to visit the Koktokay National Geological Park, which is the first national geological park in China featuring the typical mineral deposits and mine sites as its main landscape. The scenic area is divided into four parts, which are the Karasanger seismic fault zone - also known as the "World's Earthquake Museum", the Kekesuli Lake - famed as the south of the Yangtze River in the north, the Yileimu Lake - the second coldest place in China, and the famous Erqis Grand Canyon. The Hero Pit 3 in the park is the world class granite pegmatite deposit with 84 kinds of minerals found and also known as the natural mineral museum. You will pass by the Kekesuli wetland. Finally you will arrive at Buerjin and stay one night here.

In the morning, we will drive 2 hours to Jiadengyu - the entrance to the Kanas Scenic Spot. Located in the middle of the Altai Mountain in Xinjiang, the Kanas Scenic Spot is also in the golden zone where China borders Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia. The essence of the scenic area is the crescent moon shaped the Kanas Lake, which is said to be the most beautiful lake in China. Wolong Bay, Tuojing Bay, Discolour Lake and Fairy Bay attract tourists home and abroad every year with their fascinating scenery. Enjoy a leisure boat trip on the fabulous Kanas Lake. When it is clear, you could see the surrounding snowcapped mountains reflected in the lake. Hike about 1.5 hours to the Fish-pavilion perched atop of a mountain in the west bank, where is the best place to have a panoramic view of the lake. Finally, enjoy the Mongolian Tuwa Tribe music show in the village.

This morning, we drive to the Hemu village - 30 km east of the Kanas Lake. This small village is inhabited by the Kazaks and the Tuvas and is praised as "the most beautiful village" in China. The houses here are built by logs, like a primitive tribe. The Hemu village is best known for its enchanting autumn scenery, which is just like a fairyland. Wander leisurely around the wooden house village. If you like, you could climb on the top of the surrounding hills to overlook the whole village. Then, drive about 4 hours back to Buerjin.

You will be driven to Kuitun today. The whole journey takes about 5.5 hours. En route, you could enjoy the spectacular scenery of the vast desert. Meanwhile, visit the Urho Ghost City with the classic Yadan landform - voted as the top one among the three most beautiful Yadan landscapes in China by the Chinese National Geography magazine. It is also called the Urho Wind City. The hills are blown into different-shaped buildings by the wind. Looking from a distance, the whole city is just like a large medieval European castle. Finally, you will arrive at Kuitun and check in at the hotel.

Drive about 1 hour to visit the Dushanzi Grand Canyon - a unique landscape washed by the snow and rain of the Tianshan Mountian for tens of millions of years. Continue to drive for 4 hours back to Urumqi. If time permits, visit the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar, which is the largest bazaar in the world. With the Islamic style buildings, the grand bazaar reproduces the prosperity of the ancient Silk Road and embodies the rich national and regional features of the Western Regions of China. The centrally located Silk Road Sightseeing Tower offers the visitors a bird view of the area as well as different exhibitions showing the historical stories of the Silk Road. At the end of the day, check in at the hotel in Urumqi.
