This is our 2nd time using Travel China Guide And we had another amazing experience! Our tour guide was Tina, and she and the driver picked us up promptly at our hotel for our private tour of 3 sections of the Great Wall. Our favorite was Mutianyu, because it appealed to our sense of calm and serene with beautiful mountain vistas (and far less people than Badaling). Tina gave us great history about the wall and answered our questions so we had an enriching experience. We would certainly recommend!

Great tour with Helen. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about Beijing. She was very accommodating for everyone when they needed bathroom breaks or were hungry. She told us the best ways to get our best photos. If people stopped to look at things she would always wait and give us as much time to look around as we wanted. She was fantastic.

We are so grateful I booked this tour! Trying to navigate the buses, elevators, escalators, and cable cars on our own would have been overwhelming—but this tour made seeing all the must-visit spots smooth and stress-free.

The scenery at Zhangjiajie is breathtaking and the views up in the mountains are simply amazing. This national forest park is huge and features unique landforms that are probably captured in many Chinese paintings.

Our guide, Lindsay, deserves special mention. Besides being friendly, she is very thoughtful and attentive to the needs of her guests. In addition, Lindsay engages us with good relevant information that keeps us interested and informed of the areas we visit. Through her excellent planning, our experience at Zhangjiajie has been a very smooth, enjoyable and positive one.

Happened to join one of the mini tours in Zhangjiajie and it was a 2 day trip. Our tour guide for the first day was spot on professional and went above and beyond her call of duty to make sure we had a great time. Thank you Heidi, you were awesome.

On the second day we had Winnie as our guide who also performed well in her guide duties. Overall the trip booked was totally worth it.

Celine was a brilliant guide. Her competence enlighted every single corner of this amazing city, from the Terracotta Army, to Big Goose Pagoda and city walls.
Transports were very comfortly: a private shuttle took us wherever we need and Mr Lee, the driver, offered us a very professional service.
A special mention to the launch. When you are for the first time so far from home (we come from Rome) it is very important having someone who knows where to go.
More, our "tour-mates" were very kind and we instantly became a little group of friends that goes around for an unknown city.

I was looking for an itinerary that would tick all my main points of interest given I only had one day and I’m so glad I went with this tour. Highly recommend Kris to any friends or family. We had the pleasure to have Kris as our private tour guide for 1 full day in Shanghai and 1 full day in Suzhou. Kris speaks excellent English and makes the day fun and informative. The drivers that Kris used had excellent vehicles and were perfectly coordinated. Both driver and Kris were always on time. Both restaurants for lunch were excellent that served local food in a comfortable, clean, air conditioned environment with a large selection of foods . Kris was a wealth of knowledge both from a technical background but also in helping us understand Chinese culture. Kris also helped us with other things we should do our own.

Celine was an amazing guide. Her English was impeccable and everything went like Clockwork. I had a pickup at 830 and she appeared in the dot! Lunch was great, at a foreigner friendly restaurant.
We had many history lessons along the drive to the site, she also shared several useful tips for the rest of the stay there.
Highly recommended! We had access to the 50th anniversary exhibition of the tombs discovery. Even though there were no takers for the huashan tour, she gave good tips for our solo visit.

Celine is a thoroughly professional and knowledgeable guide took on an inspiring visit to the terracotta warriors. On her advice we departed early and on arrival saw the crowds building. If we hadn't got there early we would still be walking around. A great balance between an in depth history lesson and free time just to stare in wonder.
The promise of "No Shopping" was what attracted us to this tour and it was a wise decision.

Good and thorough tour, the guide was very good at English and was very energetic. Took lots of photos. We went on a day when there was a holiday in China so it was extra busy, but we got to see everything we had planned and even got time for lunch by the Great Wall. This tour was amazing and packs punch!! Rocky, our tour guide was so friendly efficent and very informative. He did a great job of moving everyone along while also giving some time to explore on our own. The tour itself was amazing and both the forbidden city and the great wall should not be missed!! Highly recommend as you kill two birds with one stone. This tour is prefect for those short on time but want to cover the major sites.

The enormity, scale and restoration work of the Terracotta Warriors is simply something that has to be seen to be believed. The Pagoda steeped in history is a beautiful reminder of what Xi’An was and still is. The City Wall stands proud and protective of its people past, present and future. Muslim quarter still provides delicacies as it did when it was operating during the beginning of the Silk Road years ago.
This tour had everything and is time and money well invested.

An early start is a must as traffic and visitors soon gather to reflect upon these world heritage sites.

If you are visiting China and you want a more exclusive treat rather than largue tourist groups, we totally recommend this company. From the beginning all was so easy to deal with them, the guides John and Tracy, were just fantastic. So close, friendly but at the same time so professionals and helpful. They made the tours enjoyable and funny. Then the highlight of a lifetime The Great Wall of China (after an awesome lunch Kevin recommended and facilitated - additional to the tour). We chose the optional chairlift up and then toboggan down. Plenty of time to explore the Great Wall from tower 6 to 1 and back again.

We had an unforgettable day exploring Xi'an with our incredible guide, Lily. The tour began with a visit to the famous Terracotta Warriors, and Lily guided us expertly through all three excavation pits. Her in-depth knowledge and engaging historical context added so much depth to the experience—far beyond what you'd get on a self-guided tour. We were also lucky to visit on a day with smaller crowds, which made it even more enjoyable.

Afterward, we had a tasty lunch near the site before heading to the Great Goose Pagoda and the Buddhist temple. Lily continued to impress with fascinating insights into the cultural and religious significance of the area. We wrapped up the day at a section of the ancient city wall—another highlight that offered beautiful views and a sense of Xi’an’s rich history. The wall was also a great place to see locals in traditional costumes being photographed.

Very good, thorough and informative tour; covers the most important highlights of Beijing in a day. Our guide, Rocky, was very accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. The forbidden city walkthrough was amazing! The Great Wall trip was perfect for taking in the views without dedicating an entire day or even hiking much, if not up for it. All in all, a great and efficient option.

Traveling in a group of 8 consisting of kids and elderly is always going to be quite a feature. Helen was truly magnificent from the very beginning till the end of the tour. Very accommodative and even going the extra mile in helping my mother secure a wheelchair while visiting the forbidden city.

Absolutely exceptional service from Rocky and Helen. The highlight of day 2 being the Great Wall. This particular section has to be one of the best and there was next to no tourists here so it was easy to get awesome photos. What helped was Rocky had his own camera and was getting heaps of group and couples photos which is much appreciated. This day included the Great Wall, forbidden palace and Tiananmen Square and rocky was able to pass on lots of history and information. Rocky was easily one of the best English speaking tour guides that we’ve had which goes a long way in these tours. Helen took us for day one for the summer palace, rickshaw rides and Beihai gardens and her knowledge of Beijing’s history was also very good. Her English was also very easily understood. All the tour guides here seem to have plenty of knowledge and can answer all the questions you have. Thanks a lot we will be recommending this tour to all!

We had a fantastic day visiting Mutianyu Great Wall of China with the round trip cable car, the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, the National Stadium and the National Swimming Center for 2008 Summer Olympics. We went to visit as well Ming tombs and sacred ways that is definitely worth to see. Our guide Tina was great, very nice and sympatic person who teached us a lot of Chinese culture and history. She helped us in communication with chinese language and made some reservations for us and thanks to her we went on CCTV tower in revolving restaurant and had buffet dinner with spectacoular view of Beijing. Driver was very professional and kind person.We highly reccomend this tour, especially Tina as guide.

Excellent tour. I’ve done many tours around the world and Carol is truly a world class tour guide. This trip is a must for anyone looking for a full day of attractions to immerse yourself in culture and history. I will recommend this tour with Carol specifically to my friends and family who visit Xi’an.

Carol’s English is excellent and she is thorough in her explanations and patient with every visitor. Even providing many interesting points on the city’s history and present-day culture itself, as well as greater China, which I greatly appreciated as we traveled between destinations. I never felt rushed during the visits as the pace was just right - enough to listen to her explanations, study the scenery, and study explanations provided by the museum and temple.

Pick-up was on time and well organized between the various pick-up locations. Mr. Li’s van was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

At the beginning of the visit to terracotta army you may be brought to a gift shop where the famous farmer is located. I thought it was a little odd to start there but it’s a rare and unique experience for many who cared to meet him (as many famous people have) - do not feel pressured to buy anything as the time spent there was short. Rest assured there is no tea-ceremony or pressure tactics, and look forward to an incredible day in Xi’an with Carol.

We booked the two following day tours with this company and had a great time on both!

1. Panda Research Centre, Jing Sha historical site, Wide and Narrow Alleys.

2. Mount QingCheng and Dujiangyan Irrigation System.

Libby was our tour guide on both days and she did a great job. She was very accommodating to our schedule and questions and we never felt rushed. She provided the right amount of information without overwhelming us. Her English was clear and easy to understand and paced the tour well.

We had the same driver both days as well and he was very professional. He provided us with plenty of water and easily accommodated our temperature requests.

Highly recommend and would book again!

This will be a detailed overview of the day trip that my family (husband and two teen daughters) and I did to the Longmen Grottoes (Luoyang) & Shaolin Temple (Songshan region) by bullet train from Xi’an. Though a bit hectic, the full day trip worked out very well . Our travel agent, Echo, from Travel China Guide, arranged for us to be picked up early (6:30am) from our Xi’an hotel (located near the City Wall) and driven to the Xi’an North Train Station. From there, we took the high speed train to Luoyang and were met by local guide Jenny and driver Mr. Li. Jenny was an extremely caring and thoughtful guide: She ensured that we were always comfortable and provided a thorough explanation about the history of the mountain carvings. We went to visit the Longmen Grottoes in mid-March, so it wasn’t as crowded as a summer visit.

Jenny and Echo were both accommodating, and allowed us to change the second part of our excursion, to a trip to the Shaolin Temple, situated an hour away from Luoyang. I had mistakenly thought the Shaolin Temple experience would involve seeing kung fu-fighting monks meditating in silence; I did not expect the Shaolin Temple to resemble an amusement park replete with fast food restaurants and souvenir shops! At the Temple, visitors can watch a short kung fu demonstration show, apart from visiting the various prayer sites.

We opted to have a lovely multi-course dinner near the Luoyang train station arranged by Jenny. Afterwards, we were glad to have Jenny escort us all the way onto the platform of our bullet train back to Xi’an. Unlike major train stops allowing at least 15 mins,Luoyang had only a two-minute window to board, so Jenny helped to fast-track our entry at the ticket gate. Back in Xi’an we were picked up by our morning driver (Mr Han). All in all, a wonderful journey!
