Amazing Xi'an and Terra Cotta tour
Our private tour in Xi'an exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Roger, was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us to navigate the crowds at the Terra Cotta Museum. He provided information so that we can appreciate each site we have visited. Roger also arranged for us to watch Tang Dynasty show with the banquet which was delicious. Xi'an has a lot to offer. We went to Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall Park, Muslim Bazaar and more. We could have added an extra day to go to Huashan Mountain as well. Highly recommend Travel China Guide and special thank you to Roger for an amazing Xi'an tour.

very good experience - views, nature and food
we had a very good experience by visiting zhangjiajie national park with travel china guide tour and especially LJ as guide - a very very good guide.
everything was very well organized.
from the beginning LJ made sure before we arrive that we have the rooms next to each other since our kids are small.
LJ speaks a very good and clear english. he has a lot of knowledge about the attractions.
and he is also very good at the logistics of the tour knowing in what order to take the attractions in order to avoid as much as possible the crowds (this parks are very crowded) and to see the best spots. he lets you know what options you have and he has a lot of patience. and patience is really important when you are with kids.
LJ also choosed good local restaurants for us where we ate local delicacies (turtle or giant salamander hot pot) that are very tasty. he also made sure our kids enjoy chinese food by taking to the waiters to make food not spicy for kids.
he really received very good value for our money from travel china guide tour - they custom made our china trip and they offered is good hotels, restaurants, cars and very good guides. and the prices are reasonable.
and LJ is a fantastic guide if you get him!

Excellent guide.
Pleasant, interesting, and comfortable tour. The guide (Selina) was really excellent. Offered great service and care, and she is highly skilled and proficient in communicating. All in all we had a great tour to Jingshan Park, the Great Wall, and around in Beijing including the Bird's Nest and the Olympic Park.
(Unfortunately Tiananmen was closed all day, the guide did her best in two trials and several inquiries! A day after we learned about the Beijing half-marathon so that explained the closure for necessary preparation.)

An enriching travelling experience
The tour started on 8 April 2024 and ended on 21 April.
It took from Beijing to Xi'an, Guilin, Chongqing, Yichang and finally Shanghai.
We saw pandas in the Beijing Zoo, walked on the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu, visited the Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, the Terracotta Warrior Museum, walked on the Xi'an City Wall, cruised on the scenic Li River in Guilin, on the Yangtze River from Chongqing to Yichang where we travelled on the high speed train to Shanghai.
We watched a jaw-dropping Chinese acrobatic show at the Red Theatre in Beijing, a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance show in Xi'an, and ate Peking duck twice.
We went up the highest building in China, the Shanghai Tower, where it took only 55 seconds to travel from the basement to the viewing deck.
We also cruised on the Huangpu River in Shanghai to enjoy the spectacular views of the skyscrapers on both sides of the river.
We walked on the historic Shanghai Bund that evening.
All in all, it was a hectic tour, made pleasant by proficient and professional English-speaking guides who were very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Well done by the team at Travel China Guide.
Great job!

Zhangjiajie highlights in 2 Days
Our 3 days in Zhangjiajie were part of a longer trip arranged by Travel China Guide. Zhangjiajie Is a beautiful area - we saw the highlights with our two guides Amanda and Sunny. Amanda took us to Tianmen Mountain - she shared a lot of information and was patient with us as we took our time enjoying the sites and taking photos. Sunny spent two days with us - we went to the Grand Canyon and Glass Bridge, Golden Dragon Cave, and a full day in the National Forest. Sunny shared a lot of information about the area and local people. TCG arranged for great accommodations and local meals. Amanda and Sunny were both wonderful guides!

Wonderful Tour in Xian
This customizable tour around popular sites in Xian exceeded all of our expectations. Roger, our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guide, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience from start to finish. We learned so much about China’s history and culture from him as we visited various sites throughout Xian. We also were provided plenty of drinking water, introduced to delicious Chinese dishes, and were safely picked up and dropped off at our hotel each day. At the conclusion of the tour, we were escorted all the way to the security gate at the airport to ensure everything went smoothly due to the language barrier. Highly recommend Roger and this tour to those looking for a wonderful experience in Xian.

Wonderful family trip to China
We did a family trip long time ago to Beijing and Xian with TravelChina Guide Tour and this time we wanted to explore further. We picked up one of the most beautiful areas of China: the landscapes of Zhangjiajie and Guilin/Yangshuo. First of all, I want to say that we are really satisfied to book again a tour with TravelChina Guide. Their service was impeccable, the attention of both tour guides: Hedy (in Zhangjiajie) and Alice (in Guilin) was first class and the overall coordination and support from Emily was second to none. We had a great time and felt all the time in good hands. We would like to explore more places in this huge and beautiful country, and for sure we will pick up again TravelChina Guide Tour!

An Adventure Through Zhangjiajie
We booked a private two day tour of the zhangjiajie scenic area and Grand Canyon, and we don’t know how we would have managed without the help of our guide, Yolin. A local of the area, she was able to help us navigate the itinerary to avoid crowds and maximize our time. She also provided some recommendations for our downtime. The views were just absolutely amazing. Don’t let the weather deter you because it can change quickly. Oftentimes, the most beautiful scenery is just after a rainstorm! I would without hesitation book with this tour group again. There are no unpleasant surprises like shopping detours. You will see everything as described in the itinerary. If you have the chance, I would also recommend asking for Yolin. She’s the best :)

Amazing to see these artefacts
Terracotta warriors are stunning. I would recommend reading the Wikipedia page first and visiting the pits in the order 3,2,1.
They are very busy but foreign visitors are very rare.
We got there by public transport following the accurate directions given by Travel China Guide. You will need AliPay for the bus but can pay cash on the metro system. For both we showed on our phones the destination we wanted as we don’t speak Chinese.
At the site you need the most left hand queue for entry if you don’t have a Chinese mainland ID and they will scan your passport and let you in seamlessly.
If you wanted an English speaking guide lots approach you inside but we wanted to go by ourselves which worked fine for us.

Amazing visit to Xi’an!
Susan was a wonderful tour guide and made the visit to Xi’an special - she helped us navigate the crowds to see the Terra Cotta warriors and took us to amazing places around Xi’an. The city has so much to offer and Susan made it very special. She took extra time to arrange for us to see shows in the evenings too. Our driver was amazing - having a private driver made everything easy. Thank you Travel China Guide!

Informative and fun! Early booking >8 days required for Forbidden City tickets
For our two day tour in Beijing we had comfortable vehicles and a pleasant guide with Tom. It was well paced and very informative. Do note April-May is pollen season in Beijing so don’t be shy about wearing those masks. We booked the no-shopping tour to take our mind off being strong armed into mandatory shopping stops and for fuss-free booking through all attractions, except for the cable car ride at Mutianyu Great Wall (round-trip) which is an extra 140 ¥ per person, but even that, Tom took care of the ticket booking. We will be back with Travel China Guide!

Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Great Wall of China full day tour
Our tour guide “ Tom” was superlative. He went above and beyond to make our full day tour of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China, a treasured, memorable and fun experience. He was kind, considerate, knowledgeable and flexible - everything you want in a guide. He even helped arrange our ride the next day to Tianjin so we could catch our cruise ship to Japan. Tom was so knowledgeable and helpful, I can’t speak highly enough of him and our driver. I have an injured ankle so he walked slow and helped me navigate across uneven surfaces and up and down stairs. He was eager to share the culture, history and foods of China with us. Our van was extremely comfortable and he picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was a big plus. We asked to be driven by the Bird’s Nest Olympic stadium and the aquatic center and he did his best to indulge our every wish. What a gem he is. I highly recommend Tom and his tour!

A great flying visit to Xi'an and the Terracotta Army!
We had an excellent time in Xi'an with our tour guide Carol! From the moment she met us at the airport she took great care of us. The tour of the Terracotta Army was a highlight of our time in China and having a guide to help skip the queues and provide detailed information really helped us take more from this trip.
In the past I have often organized visits like this to Xi'an myself without using the services of a guide but I found this to be a great option. If you need a break from navigating on your own, want to maximize the amount you see and learn about the area and also gain local knowledge regarding culture I would highly recommend Carol!

Perfect Tour to Forbidden City and Great Wall
My partner and I did the 1 Day small group tour to the Forbidden City, Tianamen Square, and Great Wall and had a wonderful time! Our English speaking tour guide Cindy was truly a delight! She had amazing facts and history to share with us throughout the day as she helped us navigate the Forbidden City (we had no idea of the sheer scale), and the Great Wall. The day started as Cindy was waiting for us in the hotel lobby at the appointed time. We hopped in the van with our driver and picked up one other family at their hotel to complete our small group of 6. From there we were fast-tracked through the ticket lines and security at Tianamen Square. (It would have taken more than twice the time if we weren't in a group. Cindy was very knowledgeable with all the questions we had, and was patient with all of our photo opportunities. After Tianamen Square our driver let us and we headed to the Great Wall. We were all feeling a little hungry and asked to stop for lunch. Cindy had a great recommendation for a local restaurant on the way out of the city. The food was absolutely amazing. It was plentiful and our table of 6 shared large plates that amounted to an amazing bargain of about $40 U.S. What a bargain! When we arrived at the Great Wall all of our group members decided we want to take the Chair Life up and the Tobaggon slide downm Cindy helped arrange our tickets and accompanied us to the top of the Great Wall. We were there for about 2 hours which was more than enough! I thought when I booked that it may be too short, but even for us in our 40s in good health the wall is a workout with the up and down uneven steps. It was breathtaking and beautiful. On our drive back to Beijing we stopped for a photo op at the Birds Nest National Coluseum, the chosen for our driver to drop us at a shopping area rather than return to the hotel. It was the perfect day and we are so glad we didn't attempt to do all this on our own. Thanks Cindy for being our wonderful tour guide. We hope to see you again on what we now hope will be another trip to Beijing!

Memorable visit in Xi'an with an excellent tour guide
Xi'an a city name well known for its unearthed terracotta army was a place totally unfamiliar to me and my wife. But our first trip to Xi'an has been made the most enjoyable and memorable one because of Celine, a local tour guide with 13 years of experience under her belt. She speaks English so well you may think she had spent years outside China or is married to an English expatriate. But no, she isnt. We immediately felt connected with her the first time we met her at the airport. She carries a chirpy demenanor and through out the 3 days of her company she had displayed high level of energy, enthusiam and unparallelled professionalism in her job. Not only is she abled to offer the gist of Chinese history related to the relics and site in concise and interesting bite size manner, her mastery of the Chinese history if you want to know more is easily met. She confidently led us through the shoulder to shoulder crowd at times with ease and assure us from time to time when the 65000 visitors a year terracotta site crowd will wax and wane and there was no need to panic elbow for the most favorable camera spot or view, which we dutifully followed and did manage to see the terracottas comfortably minus the anxieties. The next day after exploring the Dayan Tower and before leaving us to explore the bustling 'Tang Sleepless City' street, which visitors to Xi'an should not miss, in the evening she literally walked the 700 meters stretched of the street with us in the day ensuring that we are familiar with it and point us to what some local foods to pick up along the way. Though it was the third and last day of our stay in Xi'an, Celine spare no effort to explain fervently the historical background behind the City wall we visited and how Islam and a Muslim local population were established in Xi'an. A tour guide makes visiting a place the first time less intimidating. But a truly professional tour guide will leave you with an indelible mark of happy experience and memory. And this is what we felt Celine has given us.

Great Tour in Beijing.
Right from booking this tour, the communication that we received from Emily was excellent.
We were really happy with the itinerary that we had and our wonderful guide Kitty helped to make visiting the places extra special.
Along with the driver, they were always punctual. Kitty was knowledgeable and helpful in ensuring that we got the best out of all our visits.
We would highly recommend this company for doing a private tour. Thanks for making our time in Beijing really enjoyable.

Excellent private history tour of Xian with Celine!
Celine was an excellent guide: she spoke English very well and was very knowledgeable. She gave us great context on the Qin and Tang dynasties and a lot of interesting information at every site we visited. We went to the Terracotta Warriors, to Small Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque.
Celine went above and beyond: she was helpful at the train station, where we had problems with our passports, and used her Chinese to translate with the officials for us to resolve everything! They also stored our luggage for us in the car all day and supplied us with water throughout the tour. The car for our group of six was very comfortable.
Highly recommended!!

Xi'an 2024 American Tourist
This part of our tour was amazing! We had Lily as out tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Xi'an. This part of our tour is where I learned the most. My favorite 2 moments were visiting the Terracotta Warriors and having lunch with Lily. There were many things I did not realize with the warriors. I will not give the details away but truly worth the trip to Xi'an. The tour company was amazing. They made sure we got a great experience. The driver dropped off and picked up close to sites. The hotel and food was amazing. We booked as a small group tour. I would encourage everyone to do it this way. We got individual attention and were able to ask questions as they came up. Xi'an is a history buffs dream! Beautiful people, beautiful culture. We always felt safe and well cared for.

Best Tour guide
Carol Chen was our tour guide in Xi’an, China to our group of 5. She was so sincere, caring, personal and professional. She always made sure that we had everything that we needed. She even helped walk with one member with mobility problems.
Carol’s English was excellent and easy to understand. She was so knowledgeable about each place that we visited. She made sure that we had all the information needed before visiting each place. She even recommended extra activities to do at the end of each day. We would love to have Carol as a guide again.
We strongly recommend her and her company to anyone.

Loved our jam packed 2-day visit to Beijing
We had a great, jam packed 2-day tour of Beijing with Helen! We were very appreciative of China Travel Guide for offering such a compact itinerary since we only had 2 days in Beijing. Helen and our driver were terrific and kept the pace moving but comfortable with door to door service to maximize efficiency. Helen not only described the history of each spot but offered lots of additional information about life in China with fun facts and interesting tidbits.
Helen was super friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English very well. She catered to our needs bringing us to an excellent lunch spot on day 1 and was flexible to skip lunch on day 2 as was our preference. She didn’t hesitate when we chose to hike up to the Great Wall either. We especially loved exploring the Hutongs and dropped us there at the close of our tour. Helen really customized our experience to meet our needs.
We throughly enjoyed our visit with Helen and China Travel Guide.

Friendly and Knowledgeable
We had an amazing experience with Booking through Tour China Guide. Our tour guide, Kathy, and driver were amazing. We had an elderly member in our group and they were very patience and caring towards her. Our guide and driver are locals so they were very knowledgeable about the area and shared a lot about the local culture and food. Our tour guide also took picture and videos of our trip

Mission Impossible
I pretty much have set up the team at Travel China Guide for Mission Impossible, by asking them to book me train tickets and admistions for the most important attractions in Beijing during the peak of Chinese New Year.
The team made it all possible and executed flawlessly. On the ground Ethan, was the perfect guide, making excellent recommendations on timing the visit to the various attractions, navigating the best routes within each one, and offering balanced and informative commentary throughout.
Ethan, also did a fantastic job selecting restaurants matching my preffernce.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my two days in Beijing at the peak of CNY, I would suggest that for 99% of foreign tourists visiting at a time outside of CNY and the National Holiday would be better.
I would strongly recommend Travel China Guide, for anyone planning to visit China. Even after many visits to China over the last 14 years I very much appreciate having a great guide for helping me navigate on the ground. I will use them again in the future.

Private Tour to Beijing/Luoyang/Hangzhou
My husband and I got Travel China Guide to plan a private tour from Beijing, Luoyang and Hangzhou. Although the initial planning was a bit challenging, we managed to get what we wanted, particularly, the type of train seat.
Our Beijing guide, Mr Li Qiang, was duly helpful and great in his knowledge in the history. He fulfilled his guide duty despite the extremely cold weather in Beijing.
Our Luoyang guide, Ms Shirley Zhuo, was very nice and caring. She kept checking on us to ensure we were good re our meal arrangement and train transfers.
Our Hangzhou guide, Mr Derek, was helpful and easy going.
Overall, other than the extremely cold weather in Beijing and Luoyang, we had a great time.
