Tracy is a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and with great communication skills. She introduced us to every site with a very detailed explanation before getting in, in order to let us enjoy the place once inside and complete with few more info. She even explained facts related to Chinese culture that had nothing to do with thr tour, but regarding Chinese everyday life, which personally I totally appreciated. The tour is well thought, small group with no waste of time, no sto at shopping places for tourists. Definitely recommended!!!

Unlike many other tours the guide never pushed us to buy things. All our questions were answered and history explained well. Rita is knowledgeable, polite and caring. Our family (2 Adults, 2 children) booked a private tour to the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. Our guide, Lucy, was fantastic and an all round wonderful guide. She was attentive and accommodating throughout the tour, and went to greet lengths to ensure that my children's needs were met. Will definitely want to travel with Lucy again! Highly recommended!

I had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Lucy. She was great with communications prior to our tour and was simply superb today while on tour. We spent the morning at The Forbidden City and then traveled on to the Great Wall. Lucy speaks excellent English and her knowledge of the Forbidden City was impressive. Even though this was a private tour, I was originally scheduled to go to the Badaling section of the GW, but Lucy suggested we drive a bit more to the Mutianyu section of the wall. I am so glad she recommended this as it was not crowded at all. This made my entire tour today worth the time and expense.
If you find yourself in Beijing, I highly recommend this private tour and hope that you are lucky enough to spend your day with Lucy. It feels like I made a new fried.

We spent two days in Xian as part of an 18 day tour arranged with Travel China Guide.

We were met at the station by our guide Tracy and our driver. Tracy was very experienced and knowledgeable, providing lots of historical information.

Tracy arranged for us to go to a great dumpling theatre show in the evening, and made a number of adjustments to our itinerary to tailor it to our needs/wants. She arranged to switch our included lunch from food at the Muslim quarter street food market, to instead a great Biang Biang noodles and Rou Jia Mo place, and it was excellent! She also added in a stop at a famous Chinese brush painting shopping street, with shop after shop selling high quality equipment.

On our last day, because of the tweaks made we could have a longer breakfast at our hotel and keep to a more relaxed pace, which was just what we needed!

But, even then we did finish a tour of the walls and were very early for our train so had a long wait at the station, which gave us time to get a decent meal.

We had a fantastic time in Chengdu and Leshan!

Our guide Bella was amazing, she was like our little sister! She took amazing care of us, especially rescuing my wife when she was exhausted, helping us find somewhere to rest and eat.

We really appreciated what she taught us about Chinese Buddhism at Leshan and loved the bubble tea she introduced us to!

The pandas were amazing of course, and Bella worked really hard to get us good views. She clearly went above and beyond, doing little things like picking me up some Sichuan spices after I’d asked where to buy them!

She made us feel at home in Chengdu and we’d love to return and meet Bella again!

This was the first stop on our 18 day tour of China, assisted by Travel China Guide.

We met our guide Helen and everything went like clockwork! She was very experienced, we loved the boat ride through Tongli and ambling through the shopping streets of Tianzifang. We loved the different gardens!

Helen was very knowledgeable, and because of wet weather, Helen helped us tailor our itinerary by switching out a Bund walk and instead squeezing a trip to the brand new Shanghai East museum instead! Our hotel was on the Bund so this was perfect for us!

We had a fantastic time in Guilin and Yangshuo and our guide Tom Wu and our driver were great.

We were met at the station, all be it with a little wait as there was a mixup with which station, so do double check!

We saw all the sites in Guilin and Yangshuo and found it truly beautiful and a great rest stop on our extended 18 day trip.

I asked about the local cuisine and Tom took us to a great local place for a hearty bowl of rice noodles!

The next day Tom had some suggestions for tweaks to our itinerary to make it more relaxed, and surprised us with a trip to an ancient village and a wonderful restaurant. We really appreciated that!

Travel China guide were happy for us to choose our own hotels, and the guide and driver were always on time and helped us with bags and everything.

Overall we felt well looked after, learned lots of historical ands cultural information and appreciated having a local guide with great local knowledge. Thanks Tom!

Travel China Guide arranged a flight into Zhangjiajie, where we were met by our wonderful guide Lindsay!

Lindsay took great care of us, helping us navigate the queues, running ahead into the buses to grab us seats and even offering sweets to help with any dizziness!

She arranged some fantastic food in Wulingyuan, and we had really great conversations as we took an amazing long walk along the Grand Canyon!

Lindsay took amazing photos, a talented photographer and we really appreciate having those photos!

It was like visiting family, when we left, Lindsay even talked to the train station security to let her come through with us and waved us off goodbye!

All in all an amazing trip despite the foggy weather!

We had a wonderful time in Xian where we visited the Terracotta Army. Our guide Celin gave us competent insights into the history of the first Chinese emperor Qín Shihuángdì. She speaks very good English, is always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Celin knows every corner of the Terracotta Museum, the best photo spots and can tell you something about every exhibit. Amy was so helpful, providing advice, helping us make payments from the UK, providing documentation to assist with our visa applications and more besides.

Amy helped shape our itinerary, and tailored it all with us choosing to book our own hotels due to some preferences and access to corporate rates available to us. Amy provided recommendations and adaptations to facilitate my wife who has mobility issues.

All of the guides they arranged for us were amazing, really diverse and we learned so much from them. It’s our first holiday of this scale done as a private tour rather than group tour and it made such a difference, getting to know all the guides!

Travel China Guide arranged a fantastic tour for us in Beijing!

Our guide Candy was very knowledgeable, funny and informative! She paced everything really well for us, sorting out access to a lesser visited painting gallery at the Forbidden City, and giving us plenty of time to ourselves at the Great Wall to relax, take photos and enjoy the autumn colours. She also recommended not going in the morning to avoid the big group tours and instead to go in the afternoon, a brilliant tip as we had much of the Wall to ourselves!

Candy spoke to the driver and learned he had a painter in his family and so they helped provide great tips to my wife on where best to shop for good quality material!

The arranged food was fantastic, a really traditional courtyard restaurant famous for Peking duck, and the broad beans side was delicious as well!

I honestly can say that our first day in Beijing could have not gone any better. Weather was lovely to start with, we started the day very early with a shuttle pick up, it was about 10 of us but everyone was super lovely, Kevin took care of us from the very first moment. Great communication skills. We briefly stopped at Tiananmen square for a few picks and then straight into the Forbidden City, very historical place and Kevin explained us all the history behind it. After this we headed to the great wall of China, quick buffet lunch which I found was really nice and then off to the 2 people cable cart ( otherwise it is a 50 min walk. Once you reach the top, you really are blown away by the views.

Kevin explained that he took us to a side of the wall that is not busy and also tends to be quite in the PM. We were happy about that and in fact not too many people were there.

You will spend about 2 hours there which will run out quick if you like to walk all the way to the different towers.

This is a great tour cover two the key landmarks in China: the Forbidden City/Palace Museum & Great Wall. Helen was my guide and she was phenomenal! She was very knowledgeable and shared so much story with us. She also knew great photo spots away from crowds. Helen even offered to take many pictures for us. As a solo traveler I really appreciated this. Helen even brought us some water and snacks. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Helen!

The tour was very well organized and informative. Kevin was a great guide as well, very pleasant and friendly.
The vehicle was clean, I appreciate the hotel pick up/drop off and the water bottles.
Visiting the Great Wall in the afternoon was a great plan as well given the crowds are less.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Lily, who gave us wonderful historical context of short lived Qin dynasty and the differences between the various terracotta army pits - each an amazing sight to behold! We also got to meet the farmer who found the warriors which saw us go into fan girl mode. The tour also covers key city sights like the Walls and Goose Pagoda making it an excellent crash course in Xi'an highlights.

Had been toying with watching a theatrical performance and Lily went above and beyond on that front, helping us with bookings and sending us back to our hotel after. She even helped us plan our hike to Hua Shan the next day, breaking down the time needed and how much things should cost so we don't get ripped off.

We did this tour with Roger as our guide. He was great guide and very informative with his explanations. The terracotta warriors is obviously a highlight and Roger helped us navigate the intense crowds. We had our 3 year old son with us on the tour and everyone helped keep an eye out on him. The pagoda was under renovation so we went to a Chinese mosque instead.

Hi Emily, we all had a great time in China and my brothers and sisters all enjoyed our time together visiting Beijing, Shanghai and Xiamen. Kitty, Patrick and Amy are excellent guides. They gave us good information and were very patient with a group of 11 seniors, some with limited mobility. Thank you very much for arranging the trip.

My tour today with Carol was phenomenal. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Shaanxi, the Terracotta Army, and China in general. She was more than happy to answer all of my questions. Our driver Mr. Yang picked me up in a timely manner from our hotel, and the itinerary was well organized, having us go to certain locations when they were least busy. If you only have a couple days in Xi'an, certainly consider taking this tour.

It was such a good, well organised and interesting tour. Our guide Lily was so knowledgeable and friendly and great at communicating. I booked this tour so that my parents would have a fun and educational day out in Xi’an and they loved it! Would absolutely book again and highly recommend if you want to see the sights of Xi’an and get to know all the interesting history of the city as well!

We had the opportunity to book a tour with Travel China Guide. Our guide in Xi’an Carol Chen was a fantastic guide right from the moment she picked us up from the airport to the time when we separated to go to the airport. We wished we had stayed longer and continue the tour with the others. She has so much detailed information about the City and the history of Xi’an during the time of the five dynasties. She took us to see the Terracotta Soldiers, City Wall, tour the bustling Muslim town and view the Chinese opera show. Her narrations were excellent while on our way to each site and also at each specific location. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We are very pleased with the Xi’an tour.

My second visit to this absolutely stunning place. The interplay of colors if lakes, waterfalls, grass and autumn foliage - neither my description or photographs can do it justice. Go, and spend more than 1 day if you can to fully absorb and enjoy this fairyland.

We loved our time in Chengdu with our fantastic guide Bella! The trip was magical in many ways, including exploring the city and seeing the “pandas”climbing the buildings, having authentic tea by the river, but of course, seeing the pandas and a 4 month old baby panda . Bella is very knowledgeable about the city and is a Panda expert, knowing the names of most of the pandas in the Panda Base. We wish we had 2-3 more days in the city, and we will be back to Chengdu in the future.

The views of the mountains around the Li river were amazingly beautiful. The evening in Yanghuo was fun, especially with the addition of an evening show recommended by our guide featuring local community fishers as well as water buffaloes and cormorants :). Our guide Lily Cao was super helpful, kind, knowledgeable. A real pleasure. Thank you!

Xi’an truly is the capital of culture! While the terracotta warriors is a highlight, the city has so much more. We luckily had an amazing guide, Susan, who introduced us to the rich heritage and helped us to explore the city and the delicious regional specialties. We particularly enjoyed cycling the city wall (a must do!) along with the unique lunch in the Muslim quarter. Susan tailored the tour to our interests and gave us insight into the life of the local people. I would recommend this tour and if you have Susan as your guide you will learn a lot and have fun!

Xian is an amazing city—and the terra cotta warriors are a must-see. Do yourself a favor and book this longer tour with the Small Pagoda and City Wall as well—it was a great day! Our guide Tracy expertly navigated use thru each stop, made sure we got the good photo ops and have use plenty of time to wander. Highly recommend!

The Mini Group Xian Day Tour to the Terracotta Army, City Wall, Pagoda, and Muslim Bazaar was amazing. I would like to thank Roger, who did a fantastic job making this trip perfect. This was our second tour experience with the Travel China Guide company and did not disappoint!

Lindsay was our guide and we were a group of two (couple). She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and great at communication. Not to mention, up for the challenge of being very active during our tour with how much we wanted to walk / hike while exploring Zhangjiajje (on our first day alone we logged 30,000 steps). It takes a lot and we were so impressed with her all around.

She really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during the various aspects of travel and dining, and spent some extra time with us on the days we were in Fenghuang and Furong Ancient Town. She has our highest recommendation!
