I had a wonderful time with this company as my host. I visited China for 8 days on a Shanghai - Xian - Beijing package.

All my guides were punctual, polite and extremely helpful. Their English was good too. Whilst I usually do not like to point out individuals, I would just like to say thank you to Ocean my guide in Shanghai for amending my itinerary according to my requests to include activities and sites that were not in my original itinerary.

I enjoyed all the meals and the local restaurants the guides took me to. It was nice to dine in restaurants where there also local people eating too, which made it feel like I was having authentic food. The variety of food was good and the guides were helpful with choosing the dishes according to my requirements.

All the drivers were good and vehicles I traveled in were tidy.

The only unfortunate incident on my trip was at my Hotel in Beijing where I was given fake RMB notes (chinese bank notes) when I exchanged money at the reception desk. Fortunately I did not lose a significant amount of money. I must emphasis that this was NOT the fault of Travel China Guide. I would urge all others travelers to use a special hole in the wall foreign exchange vending machine to avoid falling into this trap. Some of the larger hotels such as Holiday Inn in Beijing where I stayed, should have one. I wish I had used this instead of asking the staff at the reception to do it for me. However, throughout my trip exchanging money at the reception desk was not a problem. This only happened in Beijing. Please be extremely vigilant and double check any RMB notes that you receive, either at a bank or at the hotel front desk, by asking them to run it through an electronic money counter because there are a lot fakes notes in circulation. Whilst I did not get my money back as the hotel denied it was their fault, I would like to note that my guide Linda in Beijing was extremely helpful in trying to assist me with this problem and did all she could to help me.

Overall I had a great time and would recommend Travel China Guide to my friends.
