    Great tour, fantastic guide!
Our family (2 Adults, 2 children) booked a private tour to the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. Our guide, Lucy, was fantastic and an all round wonderful guide. She was attentive and accommodating throughout the tour, and went to greet lengths to ensure that my children's needs were met. Will definitely want to travel with Lucy again! Highly recommended!

Candy spoke to the driver and learned he had a painter in his family and so they helped provide great tips to my wife on where best to shop for good quality material!

The arranged food was fantastic, a really traditional courtyard restaurant famous for Peking duck, and the broad beans side was delicious as well! Less

Superb Beijing and Great Wall Tour!
I had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Lucy. She was great with communications prior to our tour and was simply superb today while on tour. I am so glad she recommended this as it was not crowded at all. This made my entire tour today worth the time and expense.

If you find yourself in Beijing, I highly recommend this private tour and hope that you are lucky enough to spend your day with Lucy. It feels like I made a new fried. Less

    Best first day in Beijing
I honestly can say that our first day in Beijing could have not gone any better. Weather was lovely to start with, we started the day very early with a shuttle pick up, it was about 10 of us but everyone was super lovely, Kevin took care of us from the very first moment. Great communication skills. We briefly stopped at Tiananmen square for a few picks and then straight into the Forbidden City, very historical place and Kevin explained us all the history behind it. Great communication skills. We briefly stopped at Tiananmen square for a few picks and then straight into the Forbidden City, very historical place and Kevin explained us all the history behind it. After this we headed to the great wall of China, quick buffet lunch which I found was really nice and then off to the 2 people cable cart ( otherwise it is a 50 min walk. Once you reach the top, you really are blown away by the views.

Kevin explained that he took us to a side of the wall that is not busy and also tends to be quite in the PM. We were happy about that and in fact not too many people were there.

You will spend about 2 hours there which will run out quick if you like to walk all the way to the different towers.

    Unforgettable trip! Thank you Less

    Great tour with great guide
This is a great tour cover two the key landmarks in China: the Forbidden City/Palace Museum & Great Wall. Helen was my guide and she was phenomenal! She was very knowledgeable and shared so much story with us. She also knew great photo spots away from crowds. Helen even offered to take many pictures for us. As a solo traveler I really appreciated this. Helen even brought us some water and snacks. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Helen!

    A history tour of Xian
Thanks Rita for making the trip memorable. Though the day was cold and cloudy the presence of Rita made the trip a grand success. We saw all that was promised in the itinerary. Unlike many other tours the guide never pushed us to buy things. All our questions were answered and history explained well. Rita is knowledgeable, polite and caring. She also suggested things to do after the trip got over.

I highly recommend this trip to visitors.

    Visit to Xian
We had a wonderful time in Xian where we visited the Terracotta Army. Our guide Celin gave us competent insights into the history of the first Chinese emperor Qín Shihuángdì. She speaks very good English, is always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Celin knows every corner of the Terracotta Museum, the best photo spots and can tell you something about every exhibit. Many thanks to Celin

Tracy arranged for us to go to a great dumpling theatre show in the evening, and made a number of adjustments to our itinerary to tailor it to our needs/wants. She arranged to switch our included lunch from food at the Muslim quarter street food market, to instead a great Biang Biang noodles and Rou Jia Mo place, and it was excellent! She also added in a stop at a famous Chinese brush painting shopping street, with shop after shop selling high quality equipment.

On our last day, because of the tweaks made we could have a longer breakfast at our hotel and keep to a more relaxed pace, which was just what we needed!

But, even then we did finish a tour of the walls and were very early for our train so had a long wait at the station, which gave us time to get a decent meal. Less

A great way to see the sights of Shanghai
We had a fantastic day with Chloe our guide. Despite the typhoon weather, we were able to have a good day seeing the sights and making the most of our time in Shanghai. Chloe was able to tailor the day to fit our interests and was a pleasure to spend time with. We enjoyed trying the different Shanghai speciality’s and the museum was a highlight.

    Incredible Shanghai
Shanghai is breathtaking ! Probably the most vibrant city on the planet. Our guide, Sophie Lee, made our day trip very enjoyable. Her expert knowledge of the city, it's hostory and it's offerings was comprehensive. Sophie tailored the day to our taste and was very helpful with extra-tour needs. We visited several cities with Travel China Guide and our experiences have been excellent. Sophie was one of our best guides ! Highly recommended

Shanghai was the final destination on the small group tour I joined with Travel China Guide back in September this year. The itinerary indicated that the tour in Shanghai was set for one day; yet, I was eager to discover all that this vibrant and developed city, one of the largest in the country, had to offer.

On the first day of the tour ( the next morning as the tour arrived Shanghai at night ), however, the typhoon Bebinca, which hadn't been seen in the past 75 yeas, unexpectedly made landfall in Shanghai. Despite the impending severe weather, the sky was moderately breezy. Our knowledgeable tour guide, Martin, was able to guide the tour strolling on the historic Bund waterfronts promenade where most of the colonial-era buildings lining up along the Huangpu River. We also visited the classical Yu Garden, known for its architecture reflecting the former rich rank, and explored the former French Concession - Tianzifang, where the old ancient Shanghai contrasts with modern establishments just across the street like Starbucks, Peet's and various trendy shops.

Based on the itinerary, we were supposed to visit the Shanghai Museum and enjoy a river tour on the Huangpu Rive to view the towering skyscrapers in Pudong across the Bund. However, the activities were called off due to increasingly heavy rain and strong winds. Unexpectedly, Martin announced to everyone that we would receive a small partial refund for the cancelled activities. I was truly impressed and appreciated for this policy implemented by Travel China Guide, and I commended Martin for following through with the agenda.

For most of the tour members, it was a brief day in Shanghai as they prepared to head home, but for me, it marked the beginning of a solo adventure since I had planned to extend my stay in the city for few more days after the tour.

Indeed, Shanghai is a lively metropolis, one of the largest and most populated cities in the country. It is a city blended with Eastern and Western cultures, with traditional temples nestled among modern skyscrapers. Jing'an Temple, while not a major tourist spot in some tour itinerary, is easily accessible via the Metro and exemplifies this blend. I just want to emphasize how easy it is to navigate the city by local transportation like a local. Also, I was remarkably impressed that I went from Shanghai to Suzhou in just 30 minutes by bullet train; this quick travel was made possible by the high-speed rail introduced about two decades ago.

The Shanghai city's modernization over the past decades is clearly reflected from its growing skyscrapers. Across the Bund in Pudong, is the IFC building which is conveniently located near major attractions like the Shanghai Tower, Jinmao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and the iconic Oriental Pearl TV Tower, all are easily accessible via Metro or the hop-on-off double-decker buses. At night, this is the place showcases the panoramic view of the vibrant lights illuminating from the various skyscrapers.

As a newcomer to this lively city, I felt thrilled with each location I explored. It's a safe city with police presence almost everywhere. Thanks to my phone's travel plan, I navigated like I was at home, using apps for translation and maps. While cash is accepted, mobile wallets like WeChat and Alipay are much more convenient.

In summary, you'll find some historical sites that have become quite commercialized in this bustling metropolis, yet their historical charm still can be seen. If you enjoy exploring at your own pace, Shanghai should definitely be on your travel list . Alternatively, if you prefer a guided experience, Travel China Guide comes highly recommended. Less

The whole day was made more enjoyable and informative by the energy, historical storytelling and good sense of humour of Ms. Sophie Lee. Her experience, enthusiasm for the city and its future as well as the care and exceptional service she provided to her tour clients (myself and 2 friends) definitely came through and was very well received and appreciated.

I'm already thinking about my next trip to see this amazing city and hopefully stay for a few days to be able to explore more of the city and visit the neighbouring towns.

    Panda mania!
We loved our time in Chengdu with our fantastic guide Bella! The trip was magical in many ways, including exploring the city and seeing the “pandas”climbing the buildings, having authentic tea by the river, but of course, seeing the pandas and a 4 month old baby panda . Bella is very knowledgeable about the city and is a Panda expert, knowing the names of most of the pandas in the Panda Base. We wish we had 2-3 more days in the city, and we will be back to Chengdu in the future.
