    Incredible Tour and Tour Guide.
We had an English speaking private tour booked with Ms Candy to the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. Five stars is not enough recognition for Ms Candyy who was as good as any tour guide I have experienced anywhere in the World. Clear communications, brilliant knowledge and language skills and everything was smooth and well organised. She clearly was very attentive and willing to tailor the tour to whatever you wanted. Our experience with Candy
Candy was a wonderfull Guide. She has a lot of knoledge und answered every question of ours. She was very nice and gave us all the time we needed to take pictures. I would recommend her to everybody i know. If we ever decide to take a guide again, i would love to have Candy. The driver was also very reliable and we never had to wait a long time.

10 out of 10 stars for this experience.

    Highly recommend 1 day tour
We did a 1 day tour to forbidden city, Tian’anmen square and the Great Wall of China. Kevin was our tour guide and he did an amazing job. He was very attentive to the group, explained the history of various buildings and monuments and is a great photographer. Thank you Kevin! If we had more time we would’ve done the 2 day tour.

China’s blast to the past tour
We had a wonderful tour today with our tour guide Kevin! He was very knowledgeable on the destinations we visited. We learnt a lot about the history and many stories. The Hutong rickshaw ride was well enjoyed by everyone and it was very interesting seeing Old Beijing. Thank you Kevin!

Great Xian and Terracotta Warriors day tour
We had a fantastic day on this tour around Xian and the terracotta warriors. Our tour guide Lily was really kind, knowledgeable and informative. She was able to teach us all about the history of the city and the sites we were seeing and were able to answer all our questions. The private driver made the tour very easy and convenient to get to all site.

Would highly recommend Lily and this tour!

    Awesome tour
Definitely a once in a lifetime experience and the best way to visit China especially for first-timers. Visiting the Great Wall, Terra Cotta Army, and many temples were such breathtaking sights and made even better with kind and knowledgeable tour guides (Kevin, Tracy, and Helen). Lily was a fantastic and reliable tour guide, she gave us lots of interesting information about the Terracotta Warriors, we enjoyed the tour. She also helped us with getting tickets for another show too which was really appreciated. Very swift communication and friendly

    Fantastic tour with Lily!
Lily was an outstanding guide who made our day tour in Xi’an very enjoyable and memorable. Her knowledge of Chinese history added so much context to each site we visited. She gave us just the right time to explore on our own so it didn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend this tour with Lily - it is a great way to experience Xi’an!

    Amazing day in Xi'an
We had a great time on the tour - Celine was an amazing tour guide and so knowledgeable on the different areas of the city and it's history. A highlight for us was seeing the terracotta army and having traditional biang biang noodles for lunch!

We only had one full day in Xi'an and still felt like we had a full experience of the city because of the amount we were able to see on this tour - a huge part of that was because of Celines guidance and experience.

    Thank you Celine!

    Charming Suzhou and Tongli
This was part of our 12-day private tour by Travel China Guide. Our local guide Ryan and driver shuttled us roundtrip from our hotel in Shanghai. We had a wonderful time visiting Suzhou and experiencing the Tongli water town. Ryan was very informative on history, culture, and architectural details. It was a great learning experience. Along the way we enjoyed some nice local old-time snacks as well.

Excellent private day tour of the sights in Shanghai
Leslie at Travel China Guide helped me to plan out a private day tour for my family of 2 adults and 2 children in Shanghai. The process was very easy and I was left confident everything was planned well.

He spent time explaining the history and meanings behind all of the places, which helped give us an overall understanding of what we were seeing. In China, everything has meaning.

I would be very happy recommending families book a private Shanghai tour with TCG and hope you get Ryan as your guide. Less

We had a fantastic day with Chloe our guide. Despite the typhoon weather, we were able to have a good day seeing the sights and making the most of our time in Shanghai. Chloe was able to tailor the day to fit our interests and was a pleasure to spend time with. We enjoyed trying the different Shanghai speciality’s and the museum was a highlight.

I especially want to thank Lily for supporting me, and speaking on my behalf to the authorities as there was a perceived recorded error of the expiry date that conflicted with my new passport. Her professionalism, her ‘common sense’ approach to the said misunderstanding, her calm demeanour, her quiet perseverance in explanations to the authorities diffusing the situation, gave me the comfort of knowing that the matter would be resolved amicably. Her composure in handling the problem not only assured me, but that calmness exuded itself to me and at no moment did I feel alone, abandoned nor anxious. I was totally confident in her ability to settle the issue.

Further, I wish to acknowledge and compliment Lily for recommending and arranging the ‘Impression' show by Sanjie Liu. The show was definitely a show stopper and, in my humble opinion, should be one the visits that Guilin has to offer.

Lily is a total credit to the travel agency - Travel China Guide, her professionalism is of the highest quality, setting a high bar for integrity and competency! Less

Guilin really puts on a show!
As part of the excellent Classic China Tour we spent two days in Guilin with the very helpful and informative QiuyanLi as our guide for the area.

QiuyanLi ('Li' for short) met us at the airport and took us to the very impressive Reed Flute Cave complex which we really enjoyed. It can, apparently, be very busy but was not at all crowded when we visited so Li was able to show us around the caves without any difficulty.

From there we headed towards the city to see Elephant Trunk Hill. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded and noisy around the best viewing areas when we visited making it hard to see the best views or hear all of the commentary, despite Li's best efforts.

Our hotel, the Sheraton, was in a great location close to the river and city centre and we found the buffet style breakfasts in the coffee shop were excellent though it was very crowded both mornings. Our room was OK but just a little tired and disappointing compared to some of the others on the tour. Two comfortable chairs would have been better that just one for a couple.

The city is very interesting and friendly with markets and food options of all sorts though we did encounter some issues with misunderstandings over language translations but that can all be part of the travel experience in a foreign country.

We discovered that one of the best (and reasonably priced) options for a local meal is, ironically, the Irish pub next to the hotel which had almost no Irish meal options but some excellent Chinese ones making it a favourite of many of the locals, including Li!

The artificial waterfall which flows over the side of the Waterfall Hotel in the city at certain times in the evening is as spectacular as it is unexpected and worth the short walk.

The beautiful cruise to Yangshuo on the Li River was outstanding and one of the highlights of the whole tour. Li came along and made sure we missed nothing. It was wonderful! We had been warned that the lunch provided on the cruise might be disappointing but we enjoyed it very much and found the hospitality on the boat to be excellent.

Yangshuo was a very interesting and attractive little town where we had time for a short break before heading out to the countryside to walk around a small farming village which was quite interesting and showed us a very different aspect to local life.

There was an optional evening cruise on the Li River in the city area. We nearly didn't bother but that would have been a huge mistake. It was breathtaking and another of the highlights of our whole trip! It is so good that we think it should be included as part of the main tour. Guilin really puts on a show! Li, again, came along to make sure that we really enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks, Guilin and thanks QiuyanLi. Less
