- Betty RUnforgettable Adventures in BeijingThe experience in Beijing was absolutely fantastic, and our tour guide, Mike, truly made the day unforgettable! We had an amazing time exploring the city's rich history and culture. This trip is a must-do, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting. A special thanks to our driver for ensuring a safe journey and to everyone who made this trip memorable!
- Bota KInformative fun activityWe had an amazing experience with Kevin as our tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the culture and history, answering all our questions with great insight. He was also very polite, helpful, and made sure everyone felt comfortable. The small group size made it easy to interact, and the trip to the Great Wall and Forbiten City was well-organized from start to finish. Also, prepare for walking around 15K + steps. Highly recommend!

Our group (about 10 people) started off at Tiananmen Square. After a short trip through the square we toured the forbidden city. In my opinion, February is an excellent time to visit because it is significantly less crowded. I’ve been there recently in April/May and it can be claustrophobic with just how dense the crowd is.
After the forbidden city, we were driven to the Mutianyu location of the Great Wall. Given the season, it was nearly empty, which I personally prefer.
We grabbed a quick lunch at a buffet before the group split up for about 2 hours. I ended up taking a cable car up the wall (ticket not included), and the views from up top were incredible. From the top, you can hike a bit along the wall (be aware, it is very steep in some places and the stairs can be difficult to navigate for some). Again, there were very few people on the wall which was great. After rendezvousing we got back into the van and headed back to our hotel.
Overall this was a very enjoyable experience. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel like were moving too slowly.
I would definitely recommend this tour if you want a 1 day medium-paced walking tour of some of Beijing’s “must-sees.” Less - Marjorie HA great day in and out of BeijingWe had a great day with Helen.
Structure, dynamic and timing of the day was perfect.
Helen is a very nice, smiling , welcoming person, easy to discuss with and always willing to answer all our questions, logistic or about history of China. She is easy to understand. She cares about everyone and is very knowledgeable. - brutaladiWell organized itinerary with amazing HelenIt was a well organized itinerary with an amazing tour guide Helen. She explained the history and context behind most sights and gave plenty of time to self explore. Even her recommendations on lunch food, other places to visit were great. Do yourself a favour - book this trip if you are looking for a combo trip to Forbidden city and Great Wall of China. Best use of your time and money.

- Michell OFantastic must see Xi’an sites with amazing tour guideI did the Mini Group Xian Day Tour to Terracotta Army, City Wall, Pagoda and Muslim Bazaar with Lily.
The service provided by Lily was just fantastic. I had some issues with getting to the location on time (as I was taking a train from Guangzhou to Beijing). They were able to put me in touch with Lily the day before and we were able to adjust the pick up time for me to be able to join the tour.

On the drive to the Terracotta Army Lily gave us a brief history of the dynasties that we were exploring that day.
The scale of the excavation happening at the Terracotta Army just blew me away. It has always been one of my top visit places and it was well worth it. We spent a few hours there walking around with Lily explaining things to us. The potential of what is still buried and yet to be uncovered and explored is unfathomable. It is just the tip of the iceberg as Lily said. After we finished exploring the sites, Lily took us to a restaurant to have lunch
Our next stop was the Big Goose Pagoda. Lily walked us around and gave us a brief history. It was a very peaceful place.
Our next stop was the City Wall. It is incredible that the city wall is still intact in its entirety. You are able to walk (8 hours) or cycle (3 hours) around it.
Next our group split up as some people needed to catch a train and other went back to their hotel. Lily took me to the Muslim Bazaar. I had been looking forward to it all do and couldn’t wait to eat some street food. As soon as you entered the street you are immersed in the delicious smell food. There were so many options. I ended up trying a famous Xi’an food/snack - Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger with meat), Candied fruit (tanghulu), and another famous Xian food/snack - Cake Caldron (Zeng Gao).
I had some time before I had to get my flight to Guangzhou and Lily and I sat and had a coffee at Starbucks. I had a lovely chat with her for a couple of hours and she was able to explain a lot of the Chinese customs I had questions about, and just talking in general. She has been the best tour guide I have ever had on a tour. Less - Sue HAmazing guide fab day would thoroughly recommend both Carol and the company. I especially want to thank Lily for supporting me, and speaking on my behalf to the authorities as there was a perceived recorded error of the expiry date that conflicted with my new passport. Her professionalism, her ‘common sense’ approach to the said misunderstanding, her calm demeanour, her quiet perseverance in explanations to the authorities diffusing the situation, gave me the comfort of knowing that the matter would be resolved amicably. Her composure in handling the problem not only assured me, but that calmness exuded itself to me and at no moment did I feel alone, abandoned nor anxious. I was totally confident in her ability to settle the issue.
Further, I wish to acknowledge and compliment Lily for recommending and arranging the ‘Impression' show by Sanjie Liu. The show was definitely a show stopper and, in my humble opinion, should be one the visits that Guilin has to offer.

From there we headed towards the city to see Elephant Trunk Hill. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded and noisy around the best viewing areas when we visited making it hard to see the best views or hear all of the commentary, despite Li's best efforts.
Our hotel, the Sheraton, was in a great location close to the river and city centre and we found the buffet style breakfasts in the coffee shop were excellent though it was very crowded both mornings. Our room was OK but just a little tired and disappointing compared to some of the others on the tour. Two comfortable chairs would have been better that just one for a couple.
The city is very interesting and friendly with markets and food options of all sorts though we did encounter some issues with misunderstandings over language translations but that can all be part of the travel experience in a foreign country.
We discovered that one of the best (and reasonably priced) options for a local meal is, ironically, the Irish pub next to the hotel which had almost no Irish meal options but some excellent Chinese ones making it a favourite of many of the locals, including Li!
The artificial waterfall which flows over the side of the Waterfall Hotel in the city at certain times in the evening is as spectacular as it is unexpected and worth the short walk.
The beautiful cruise to Yangshuo on the Li River was outstanding and one of the highlights of the whole tour. Li came along and made sure we missed nothing. It was wonderful! We had been warned that the lunch provided on the cruise might be disappointing but we enjoyed it very much and found the hospitality on the boat to be excellent.
Yangshuo was a very interesting and attractive little town where we had time for a short break before heading out to the countryside to walk around a small farming village which was quite interesting and showed us a very different aspect to local life.
There was an optional evening cruise on the Li River in the city area. We nearly didn't bother but that would have been a huge mistake. It was breathtaking and another of the highlights of our whole trip! It is so good that we think it should be included as part of the main tour. Guilin really puts on a show! Li, again, came along to make sure that we really enjoyed ourselves.
Thanks, Guilin and thanks QiuyanLi. Less
