Nanli Lake to Bo'ao

Haikou is situated in the south of China, and it the biggest city in Hainan province. Being a coastal city, it attracts thousands of people from all over the world. Differing from mysterious Tibet, modern Shanghai and ancient Xian, Haikou greets guests with its own special features. After exploring Haikou city, the following tour enables you to discover the surrounding area of the city, as well as famous Bo'ao Water Town.

In the morning, take a bus from Haikou East Coach Station to Anding County, then catch a bus to Nanli Lake. Located in Leiming Town, Anding City, Nanli Lake is a freshwater lake with 13 small islands. Immerse yourself in the picturesque scenery. 

Then continue your trip to the mother river of Hainan province, Wanquan River. From Nanli Lake, take a taxi to Huangzhu Town and catch a bus to Qionghai City. Then take a local special tourist bus or taxi to Wanquan River. Apart from fishing, one of the most popular activities on the river is rafting from Yanyuan to Huishan village, which is about 15 kilometers taking approximately 3 hours. You will have a chance to see the charming scenery along the river. It will be an unforgettable experience of your whole tour. The fare is CNY168 per person.

Pay a visit to the Baishiling Ridge and Bo'ao Water Town. Baishiling is located in Jiaji Town of Qionghai City. You may get there by minibus or taxi. Baishiling (white rock ridge) is named for a huge white rock at the top of the mountain. Standing on the top, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of Wanquan River. The admission fee is CNY8. Cable car is also available and the fare is CNY33 for single trip and CNY43 for round trip.

In the afternoon, take a bus to Bo'ao from Qionghai Bus Station. The bus runs every 10 minutes and the fare is CNY3.5 per person. Since 2002, the Bo'ao Water Town is famous for the Bo'ao Forum for Asia. It is located at the estuary where Wanquan River merges into the South China Sea. Islands, beaches, resorts, hotels and conference halls make up the site. The entrance fee is CNY120, including the sightseeing ship.

Stay overnight at Bo'ao Town. There are many starred hotels and family inns in the town for your choice.

Today you have a full day to explore the town. Go for a visit to a site of the forum or just relax at the gorgeous Jade Belt Beach. Or take a shot at one of the six golf courses in the town.

In the afternoon, take bullet train D7334 at 18:45 from Bo'ao railway station to Haikou. The journey takes 80 minutes. The fare is CNY44.5 for a second class seat.
