What to Wear in Dali in October

During the daytime, it’s better to wear long shirts and light pants with a thin coat. At night, add thick clothes to adapt to the cold weather, like thick jackets, or woolen sweater. Walking shoes or sneakers must be taken for long-distance walking. In addition, sunhat and sunglasses would be useful to beat intense UV rays in Dali.

Where to Go in Dali in October

The Herb Garden with beautiful lavender fields, located in Cai Village along Erhai Lake, is a popular scenic spot to visit.

Then, go to Yuehua Road, opposite to the Herb Garden, where you could have a sight of sunflowers.

Staying overnight at Cai Village for beautiful sunrise over the Erhai Lake is also recommended.

Taxi prices

How much are taxi prices on average? Are taxis very expensive in Dali?

The flag down fare is CNY 8 for the first 3km, then CNY 2 per extra kilometer. Taxis are not expensive but there is always traffic jam in Dali during the high season like July, August, March - May which will cost waiting fee, CNY 1 every 2.5min.
