Hefei West Railway Station

The old Hefei West Railway Station is not available for passenger transport at present and there are no trains there. The new Hefei West Railway station, as one of the three important railway stations in Hefei and a main station of Hefei-Anqing High Speed Railway, will start to be constructed in 2019 and be open in the year of 2022.

Once the new Hefei West Train Station is completed, it will be the second largest station in Hefei City just following Hefei South Railway Station. The newly built railway station is about 17 kilometers (11 miles) from Hefei Railway Station, 11 kilometers (7 miles)from Hefei South Railway Station, 43 kilometers (27 miles) from Sanhe Ancient Town, 70 kilometers(43 miles) from Chao Lake, and 11kilometers (7 miles) from Memorial Temple of Lord Bao.

 Hefei West Train Station, as a national transportation junction, will be linked with major cities in China through high speed rail lines, including Shanghai, Bengbu, Fuzhou, Shangqiu, Hangzhou, Anqing, Jiujiang, Qingdao, Xi’an, Nanchang, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. 

Once the station is open, passengers can go to Anqing from Hefei by high speed train in only 40 minutes, from Hefei to Nanchang in 2 hours, and to Shenzhen and Hong Kong in only 6 hours.

 Hefei West Railway Station consists of three buildings – two higher buildings in two sides with a lower one in the middle, looks like a capitalized letter “H” from its appearance. The letter “H” represents the initial letter of “He” in “He Fei” and the initial letter of “Hui” in “An Hui”, in which province Hefei is located. “H” also symbolizes “和”, pronounced as “He” in Chinese and meaning “harmony”.

Two squares –the east square and the west square will be built in Hefei West Train Station. The bus stop will be located in the northwest of the new stationand the metro stations will beextended to the east and the underground of the east square of the new Hefei West Railway Station. Passengerswho wants to leave the station by taxi will have to go to the underground floor in the north of the new station.
 Take metro line 3 and get off at the railway station directly.
Besides, the subway line S1 will link Hefei South Railway Station and the new station. 

 Hefei Railway Station: Located in the northeast of Hefei, the station operates both normal and bullet trains to/from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Huangshan, and Nanjing.

Hefei South Railway Station: Located in the southeast of Hefei, the station operates bullet trains to/from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Huangshan, Ningbo, Nanjing, Hankou and Fuzhou and etc.

Hefei Beicheng Railway Station: Located in the north of Hefei, the station mainly operates high speed trains to/from Cangnan, Shanghai, Huainan, Bengbu, Huangshan and etc.
