How to Travel from Xi’an to Huashan

Located in Huayin city, Mount Huashan is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) east of Xi’an. How to get to Huashan from Xi’an? The fastest and best way is by high-speed train. It takes about 30 minutes and CNY 54.5 for a second class seat ticket. Normal-speed trains cost CNY18.5 for a hard seat and the travel time is about 2 hours. Tourists can also choose to take a direct bus to Huashan Mountain foot, taking about 2 hours and CNY 39.5-42 per person. In addition, taking a taxi is the most convenient way from Xi’an to Huashan, but it’s also the most expensive. It takes around 2 hours and the price usually ranges between CNY 350 - 600.
 
How to Travel from Xi'an to Huashan
 

1. Best Way - High-Speed Train: 30 min, CNY 54.5 for a Second Class Seat

There are over 50 high speed trains serving passengers from Xi’an to Huashan. They depart from Xi’an North Railway Station to Huashan North Railway Station from 7:52 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 Ticket Fare: G Trains - CNY 54.5 for a second class seat ticket; CNY 89.5 for a first class seat and CNY 175.5 for a business class seat.

Tourists can take Metro Line 2 or Line 4 to Xi’an North Railway Station from downtown.

After arriving at Huashan North Railway Station, one can take the free tourist bus Huayin Line 1 / Line 2 from the main square in front of Huashan North Station to Huashan Tourist Center, taking about 40 minutes. In particular, the free tourist bus departs from 7:10 - 19:10. If you miss the period, you can also take a taxi to Huashan Tourist Center at about CNY 20.

2. Alternative Way - Normal-Speed Train: 2 Hours, CNY 19.5 for a Hard Seat

There are 6-7 normal speed trains running from Xi’an Railway Station to Huashan Railway Station, which takes about 2 hours for a single journey. After arriving at Huashan Railway Station, one can spend CNY 3 and take bus Huayin 608 to Huashan Tourist Center.
 Ticket Fare: CNY 18.5 for a hard seat; CNY 64.5 for a hard sleeper.
 

3. Direct Tourist Bus to Mountain Foot: 2 Hours, CNY 39.5-42

How to go to Huashan from Xi’an by bus? Tourist can take Xi’an Metro Line 1 to Fangzhicheng Station, or take metro line 4 to Xi'an Railway Station and Xi;an Coach Station is on the south. From the coach stations, passengers can take a direct bus to the tourist center of Mt. Huashan.

4. Taxi: 1.5 - 2 Hours, CNY350 - 600

Taking taxis is much flexible and comfortable. The taxi fare varies from CNY350-600 and the duration is 1.5-2 hours. Tourists should be aware that it may be hard to hail a taxi willing to travel so far. 
 

How to Choose

Beyond all doubt, taking a high-speed train is the best and fastest way to travel from Xi’an to Huashan in terms of travel time, cost and convenience. It greatly facilitates tourists who want to take a one-day tour from Xi’an to Huashan Mountain.

If you happen to stay near Xi'an Coach Station or Fangzhicheng Metro Station or along metro line 1, you could choose to take a tourist bus from Xi’an to Huashan. You should be prepared for small interior spaces on the bus.

Bus from Huashan to Xi'an
Is there any morning bus from Huashan to Xi'an? I need to catch train 27.07 at around 1PM from Xi'an North.

Sorry I found no bus running between. You can take a shuttle bus or a taxi to Huashan North Railway Station and take a bullet train there to Xi'an North, over 55 train departures daily from 08:51 to 22:26.
