June marks the beginning of summer in Shangri-La and it is warm overall. On sunny days, the temperature reaches up to about 20°C (68°F) at noon. However, it is advisable to prepare a thick jacket for the morning and evening, as the temperature difference between the day and night can be around 10°C (50°F).

Rainfall increases a lot this month, exceeding 100 mm from 21 rainy days on average, so rain protection items are necessary. But don’t be stopped by the large number of rainy days, because Shangri-La weather changes quickly and the rain usually doesn’t last long. As a reminder, rainy days get colder than usual. In addition, more rainfall leads to shorter sunshine hours, which are only 5 hours per day in this month on average. The good news is that the daytime is long at over 13 hours per day, so you’ll be able to have more time at your disposal for fun.
