Ethnic Old Town Hiking

After taking some photos and getting a bird's eye view of the panoramic vistas from the summit, you then hike back down the mountain and head toward Tianlongtunpu (old town), a distance of about two 2 kilometres. We highly recommend the regions speciality dishes - the local sponge cake (a kind of sweet) and the delicious beef, etc. Before you continue exploring this old town, here is some information about the ancient town for your reference. This town had a position of strategic importance during the battle in ancient times and was a military stronghold. As one of the most famous ancient towns, it developed its own culture and history, which is completely different to that of other ancient towns in China. We suggest that you try to find its uniqueness for yourselves whilst you explore. Entering the village is like walking into a time capsule, you will be enthralled by the unique design and colour of the clothing worn by the villagers. They are the direct descendants of the garrison soldiers of the Ming Dynasty (1364 - 1683AD) and their house architectural style also follow the style and features of the Ming dynasty, despite the great changes that have occurred in the outside world. Finishing a short stroll around the village, you need to have a rest and you are suggested to find a farmhouse hotel. The charge is around 10 Yuan per night with the comfortable condition. After arranging your accommodation, you may wish to visit the local families to learn more about their customs.

Day Three: you can take a bus from Tianlongtunbao to Anshun city at the local bus station. It will take about 30 minutes and costs 10-15 Yuan for the journey. After arriving in Anshun, take a bus from the North Gate station to Zhijin town. The bus fare is 30 Yuan and is a 4 hour' drive with departures available every 20 to 30 minutes. After you arrive at Zhijin town, please find a place called "chedui". From here, take the bus to Zhijin cave, the fare is 6 Yuan per person and the journey takes half an hour to the cave area. The entrance fee is 120 Yuan. Before you enter the cave, take a long grown with you, since it is a bit cold in the cave. Besides, please kindly note that entry into the cave is not allowed on your own. Groups of 20 people are escorted by an experienced guide who will lead you through the labyrinth with a narration. Throughout the network of caverns and passages are numerous stone pillars stalagmites, stone curtains etc, forming a natural karsts museum. After you finish exploring these amazing caverns, you can take a bus outside the scenic area gate back to the centre of Zhijin town with journey duration of one hour or so.
