Day 1 Arrival in Xining
Upon arrival in Xining, our warm tour guide will pick you up at airport or railway station, and then escort you to the hotel and help you check in.

Day 2 Xining - Lhasa
Lamas in Kumbum Monastery
After breakfast in the hotel, we will start today's trip from Kumbum Monastery (Ta'er Monastery). Here you can appreciate the three incomparable art treasures in it: butter sculpture, murals and barbola.

At noon, our tour guide will help you board the train to Lhasa. Your Tibet train tour from Xining begins as the train starts to run on the highest railway in the world. The whole journey takes about 21 hours and the 13-hour trip from Golmud to Lhasa is the highlight. You can enjoy the snow-capped scenery of the Kunlun Mountains which is regarded as the No.1 holy mountain in China and Hoh Xil Nature Reserve. You will also encounter Tangola Mountain Pass which towers more than 5,000 meters (16,404 feet) above the sea level and the Cona Lake - world’s highest fresh water lake with an altitude of 4,594 meters (15,072 feet).

Day 3 Arrival in Lhasa
You will spend whole day on the train and all the meals are on your own arrangement. There is dining car and food trolleys offering Chinese food, snacks, fruit and drinks. 

The train arrives in Lhasa at night, and our Lhasa tour guide will pick you up at railway station and escort you to the hotel for check-in. We suggest that you take a good rest at the hotel to adapt to the high altitude. Try to avoid running, jumping or doing any strenuous activities.

Day 4 Lhasa
Potala Place
After breakfast, we head to the biggest monastery in Tibet - Drepung Monastery. The white buildings of the monastery are built orderly on the mountain slope and look like a huge pile of rice from afar which symbolizes prosperity.

After lunch, our guide will escort you to visit the Sera Monastery. The debating of Buddhist Doctrines from 15:00 to 17:00 cannot be missed. It is a discussion of Buddhist knowledge and also can be said a way of learning Buddhism by the lamas. The last destination of today's Lhasa Tibet tour from Xining by train is Norbulingka, a typical Tibetan style garden known as the "Plateau Botanical Garden". Here we can not only appreciate the different kinds of Tibetan architectures but also get close to the Tibetan’s daily life.

Day 5 Lhasa
Jokhang Temple
This morning, we will go to visit the Potala Place, a magnificent building with highest altitude in the world which integrates palaces, castles and monasteries and also a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhism. Then we will visit the Jokhang Temple, a Tibetan religious temple with the architectural styles of Tibet, Nepal and India.

After lunch, our guide will lead you to go for a walk at Barkhor Street surrounding the Jokhang Temple. This is the most famous praying path for Buddhist pilgrims and the most prosperous business street in Lhasa. At last, we will visit a nunnery.

Day 6 Lhasa - Yamdrok Yumtso Lake - Lhasa
Yamdrok Yumtso Lake
In the morning, the breakfast will be offered to you in the hotel. Then our guide will accompany you to visit Yamdrok Yumtso Lake with an altitude of 4,400 meters (14,435 feet). It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. The lake is about 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Lhasa and we will get there in about 2.5 hours by car. If interested, you may ask the staff there to take photos for you with yaks; it costs CNY20 per person and the fee can be paid on the spot.

Day 7 Departure from Lhasa
